Looks like it could be five original elemental alignments, or maybe just four since that silver color seems like it matches neutral better than it does ice.

The top left rune appears to be erased; perhaps an erasure of a piece of history? If the other runes represent Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind, it's possible that there was a fifth element that was erased... maybe the new ancient breed is from that element that was lost to history.
