More often than one might think, older dragons end up as fodder and get exalted. But they have been here for so long-- perhaps they would like to stay a bit longer! Some older dragons visit Elderbrook to relax for a while as they search for a new home. They all have unique traits and histories, and perhaps one would love to stay with you.

A dragon is usually considered older when they are at least 3 years old. I especially consider anyone older than 5 to be an old dragon. Old dragons are part of Flight Rising's history and have been here for so long already, so why not let them keep going?
Most dragons at lower prices on the Auction House are a few days or weeks old, but older dragons are displayed above younger dragons of the same price. This makes old dragons susceptible to being bought for fodder when they are listed at fodder prices.
To avoid them getting exalted, I buy any old dragons that show up at a fodder price. They are all very special, but I can't keep them all (although I have a bunch)! So if you find old dragons endearing like I do, feel free to check out the ones I have in search of new homes.
I generally follow the Old Oaks procedure of listing dragons at 10g/kt per year of age. This helps fund the buying, feeding, and lair expansion for more old dragons. However, I am happy to take lower offers in good faith.
