Agreed, but the "common knowledge" that there's millions of 7digits was probably said about 6 digits to some extent (the actual number notwithstanding), when 5 digits were starting to climb in prices, but 6ses were basically still exalt fodder priced. I remember someone asking about 2 years ago if 6dig were valuable and basically every one said no unless they were G1 doubles and that depended on the colors involved.
As it goes, right around we got to the mid 7-dig range was when domming really picked up and we had very large multi-flight battles (Anyone else remember the one really good Battle Royale we had?). The fodder had to come from somewhere. Case in point, though I did trade him, I'm still kinda miffed that someone exalted a 7dig unbred XYX imp of mine, rather than try to sell him first, (I'd have bought him back just because he was so nice, and Lionfish wasn't out yet.) Doing that would be unthinkable for a XYX unbred 6dig imp right now, but happened plenty when 5digits were starting to get going.
I think separate lists are a good idea. Even subdividing the current ones further, as people have started to transition from ever getting a 5-dig to seeking only 6 and 7 digits below certain numbers (like the user who aims for under 2 million dragons). Perhaps we could use below 3mil, below 5mil, below 7mil lists as interest checks and whatnot.

i would actually love this! it would especially help for people who collect old dragons of a certain other specification, because those dragons are harder to find and (speaking for myself, but i can imagine some others have the same view) i don't particularly care if their ID is below 3 mil or not, i just like that they're from a few years ago. for example, i go out of my way to buy earth flight 7 digit imps, because i just think they're cool and i don't imagine i'm ever getting a 5 or 6 digit earth g1 (since i'm a g1 lair for the most part, but i make exceptions for imps bc... g1s are just unrealistic there) but i want some old earth dragons. i also want a specific date that's in june 2014, which is in the 7 digit range but above 3 mil, so i'd love to have a pinglist to help me find possible dragons for that.

Personally, I'm good with the 7-digit list as it is. There's literally millions of them, compared to 6-digit and lower, and even with the limit clearly stated there's still the occasional ignoring that. If it were any 7-digit, those of us on the list would probably be getting dozens of pings a day, which is one of the reasons it was added in the first place (I was actually the one that suggested a restriction of some sort waaaaaay back when, lol).
However, now that we're not gonna get pinged for dragons that are literally only a couple months old, revisions would make sense.
I very much like the idea of adding a second all-7-digits pinglist in addition to the current one! Especially since most 7-digits are still super cheap, and those that aren't are pricy because one person insists their dragon is worth X and people see that and think their dragons are worth X too even if there were circumstances boosting the price of the other and the misinformation spreads and we end up with fodder-type dragons priced at thousands of gems and yeesh x___x
