I wonder if it's possible to have a dragon pair that could theoretically have the entire color wheel range.
Like if I had a dragon with a primary color of Maize and then another of Pearl, would they get every single possible color? Or would it have to be like Maize and then Mantis or something?

Breeding takes the shortest route around the color wheel, so you'd need to have two pairs that each cover half of the wheel if you want to breed every color.

To add to the above, for your example maize and pearl are right next to each other on the wheel, so the pair would exclusively have maize/pearl hatchlings
You can also have three dragons- XXX maize, and an XXX for both of the opposite colors
You’d just need the two to take turns breeding with the maize

The other replies already answered you're question, so I'll just add that if you wish to test/preview the colour range of two dragons, you can use the
FR Color Schemer tool. It's very helpful for planning out breeding pairs.
