Tibetan Sand Foxes! My sister doesn't like them, but I think they're amusing. They look like they're so done with everything.

Feather legged flies have cowboy chaps. They walk around with a swagger, unlike other flies. They’re also helpful for gardens because they’re parasitoids that prey upon squash bugs.
Hoverflies are pollinators that pretend to be bees, even going so far as feigning stings, though they have no means of harming humans.
The larvae vary from species to species. Ant eating hover flies look like princess cake or candy drops. Aphid eaters are nondescript green squishy blobs. Filter feeders live in stagnant tree hollows, breathing from anal snorkels (the thing that looks like a tail) and thus are called rattailed maggots or just rat-tails. All forms can be found in a single woodland or garden.
Crane flies are incredibly clumsy. How do they even survive? Actually, their main defense is to just drop their twitchy legs. As an adult they will not live that long anyways. They may spend many years as a larva, but cease feeding as an adult.
Another cool fly is the netwinged midge, Liponeura cinerascens, which has an aquatic larval stage with octopus-like suction cups which helps it survive in the fastest flowing of rivers.
Oh actually, you know what the weirdest flies are? Moose Flies (Phytalmia spp.), the males have antlers and use them just like moose or deer bucks.

I recently learned about tailless whip scorpions! Funky dudes, they have lil grabby hands

Ichneumon wasps! Not as weird compared to other animals here, but I was super freaked out by their long butt thing the first time I saw one. It looks like a stinger, but it's actually an organ that they use to lay their eggs in tree bark!

Gulper eel, or pelican eel! I don't know a lot about these guys, but they're definitely weird enough to be here.

A weird anglerfish with two long lures! Its scientific name is himantolophus mauli.

This guy isn't a fish nor a bug and he's extinct, but I had to put him here bc he's been living in my head rent free lately, he's called a cotylorhynchus! Look at him and his teeny tiny head, he looks mismatched and I love him.

It like somebody let Dr. Suess design an antelope.
draco lizards
they "fly" (glide) by expanding their ribs out

toadfish
incredibly ugly goblin fish. they're uglier in real life, somehow

triggerfish
interesting lookin dudes. when you pull them out of the water their first spine sticks straight up and you can't push it down...until you press down the second spine, hence the name

ramora
these are the fish that cling to sharks and other hosts. that thing on the top of its head is a suction cup

also freshwater shrimps exist and there are a lot of funky morphs!
(those green things in the clear shrimp's belly are eggs. when a shrimp carries eggs, breeders call them "berried")
