Same here. I actually like my random progen more because Swamp/Coral/Fire goes better together that two shades of purple and Jade.
And he's a guardian, too!

A mirror, then later changed to a pearlcatcher. I chose a mirror because I thought they looked the coolest.

My progen was a Mirror, but I changed her to a Ridgeback cuz I thought her pose was really cool at the time (and she was very big now and could boss other dragons around if necessary XD)

Mirror, because I was trying to bed edgy with Plague lol. The F Mirror pose was the most dynamic and screechy pose out of all of them, which I felt represented me well. She was blue since that is my favorite color!
Since then, I've grown to like the Guardian poses much better and they have become one of my favorite dragons.

Mirror, I liked how it looked, chose obsidian crimson. I feel as if his tert, thistle, could be good but he's flat basic at the moment. I've been here for over a year he should have at least one gene, but he doesn't. No, I didn't choose o/c because edge, I just liked the look.
Edit: My random was a tundra who is currently wearing a skin but her colors scream spring rain to me. So I got a pretty nice dreg as custom and a pretty nice dreg as random.
