Alright there it goes.

Bar/Daub: As a reptile-based pattern, I can't be convinced it looks good in bat-like wings. so Bar wins, especially in browns/dark yellows.

Cherub/Seraph: Cherub is an interesting pattern that pulls your eyes to the dragon's body and looks amazing in dual colours (aka Copper, Tarnish, Grapefruit etc.) It can look busy with other genes such as Opal and Hex, and finding apparel that doesn't make the dragon look too busy can be hard; but as long as you don't overload your dragons with 20 different apparel pieces, you're fine.

Seraph is feather tattoos. No.

Clown/Eye Spots: I gotta say, I'm not a big fan of either gene. that being said, Clown can look good in certain cases (i.e. Cerise <3), while there are only a couple occasions where I ever considered using Eye Spots on a dragon, and even then something else always looked better. So yep.

Crystal/Facet: Crystal does... not look good to me. At all. an exception is maybe Gargoyle/living statue dragons, or paired with Gembond, and even then it's pretty iffy.

Facet, on the other hand, is one of my favourite Secondaries, especially for Pearlcatchers and Snapppers. Good stuff.

Falcon/Peregrine: Falcon is fine, but there are more interesting primaries out there. Peregrine is my go-to cheap gene for anything, but it looks downright amazing with Cherub.

Giraffe/Hex: More subtle than cherub, more usable than ripple. Giraffe is what I try on dragons where neither works, and it usually solves my geneing problems. Sure it looks... questionable with some colours (*cough* metals *cough*), and for those I think Hex is a better fit, but in a lot of cases it looks great.

Iridescent/Shimmer: I'm one of the many who think Iri and Shim were made to be used separately OR with a dominant tert (Thylacine, Gembond, Crackle etc). And I'll always pick Shimmer over Iridescent because Iri is kind of basic.

Jaguar/Rosette: Same reasoning as Bar/Daub, except for cats instead of reptiles.

Jupiter/Saturn: Lesser Of Two Evils. The Space genes look incredibly chaotic, and while that can work for some dragons, I don't like having to resort to it, especially when Ripple exists.

Metallic/Alloy: Metal just doesn't feel like an appropriate material to build foldable wings off of.

Petals/Butterfly: Petals is, in my very picky mind, Fancy Jupiter(tm). Nope.

Piebald/Paint: I can't choose because it's both or neither.

Pinstripe/Trail: I don't know why. I can't explain. Trail looks better than Pinstripe.

Poison/Toxin: The opposite as Piebald/Paint as in, only one or the other, but I can't pick a favourite and can't have both on the same dragon.

Ripple/Current: Again, not my favourite gene, but when it works it works. I met an user who commissioned me to draw a Ripple/Shimmer/Underbelly wind rep and he was one of the coolest dragons I've seen. I lowkey have been wanting one like him since.

Savannah/Safari: Something about the melting blot on the neck in Savannah upsets me so much I can only use it with Underbelly/Glimmer/Capsule. Safari is subtler and more versatile.

Skink/Spinner: SKINKS ARE WINGLESS ANIMALS

Speckle/Freckle: I'm very picky about this pair. It's not the worst, but I'd only ever use it for lore reasons, or in Geode Snappers (still need one of those myself btw)

Tapir/Striation: the face markings in Tapir are overwhelming.

Tiger/Stripes: Stripes was a mistake.

Vipera/Hypnotic: What the heck is Hypnotic.

Wasp/Bee: oooh sparkly

Bar/Daub: Ooh, this is tricky, but probably Bar.

Cherub/Seraph: Cherub! Cherub! Cherub! I love that gene so much.

Clown/Eye Spots: Eye Spots. I hate Clown.

Crystal/Facet: Facet, but Crystal is also good.

Falcon/Peregrine: I CAN'T DECIDE BOTH GENES ARE AMAZING

Giraffe/Hex: Hex. Just looks nicer (to me.)

Iridescent/Shimmer: Shimmer, Iridescent looks greasy on a lot of colors.

Jaguar/Rosette: Jaguar. Rosette is just.. not the best.

Jupiter/Saturn: Saturn! I think Jupiter is just a bit too busy.

Metallic/Alloy: Alloy, Metallic looks like jello sometimes.

Petals/Butterfly: Butterfly, but I love both genes.

Piebald/Paint: Paint.

Pinstripe/Trail: Trail, I really just don't like Pinstripe.

Poison/Toxin: Toxin! I just like the wing pattern.

Ripple/Current: Current, Ripple is just not my favorite.

Savannah/Safari: Savannah! Safari's too subtle.

Skink/Spinner: I can't decide.

Speckle/Freckle: FRECKLE FRECKLE FRECKLE FRECKLE #FreckleSupport

Tapir/Striation: Striation, I don't like Tapir's face markings.

Tiger/Stripes: Tiger! Much more visible.

Vipera/Hypnotic: Vipera. I dislike both genes, but Hypnotic is just... no.

Wasp/Bee: I can't decide.

Bar/Daub: Probably Bar. I like both, but Daub looks pretty unnatural on any wings with feathers, in my opinion.
Cherub/Seraph: Seraph isn't bad, but I prefer Cherub.
Clown/Eye Spots: Clown. Not a fan of Eye Spots in most cases.
Crystal/Facet: I like both, kind of prefer Facet though.
Falcon/Peregrine: Both. I quite like the pair, both together and seperately, and don't have a preferance.
Giraffe/Hex: Not a fan of Hex. Giraffe is by far my favourite of the two.
Iridescent/Shimmer: I like both. No preference either way.
Jaguar/Rosette: I like Rosette, but I do prefer Jaguar quite a bit.
Jupiter/Saturn: Not a huge fan of either, to be honest. If I had to choose a favourite though, probably Saturn.
Metallic/Alloy: I like both, both seperate and together.
Petals/Butterfly: They're both nice, but I like Butterfly better.
Piebald/Paint: Piebald. Paint is okay in some cases, but unless it is with Piebald I don't tend to be a huge fan.
Pinstripe/Trail: Mostly depends on the colours and breed with these two, but I really like both.
Poison/Toxin: They're alright. Certainly among my lesser liked genes though. Overall, I think I prefer Toxin over Poison.
Ripple/Current: Neither. They can be alright, but I just.. don't really like them that much?
Savannah/Safari: Savannah is my preference. Safari is nice too, but,in my opinion, is a slightly less versatile gene.
Skink/Spinner: Skink. I find Spinner looks odd on pretty much all breeds.
Speckle/Freckle: Both. No preference.
Tapir/Striation: I enjoy both, but I think I like Striation a little more.
Tiger/Stripes: Tiger is the one I tend to prefer. Both are pretty nice, but Stripes tends to leave the wings rather plain, in my opinion.
Vipera/Hypnotic: By far, Vipera. Hypnotic can work in some cases, but I like it far less.
Wasp/Bee: I really like both, but Bee is my favourite of the two.
