A tiny Nocturne hatchling grows within. The thick, armored shell makes it unclear what elemental alignment it has taken.
While Castle Itreforn once lay within Sornieth, no one remembers where it was originally built. It once held families of nobility, but over time fell into disuse and disrepair. Abandoned and threatened by the elements, and Beastclans who wished to see this symbol of dragonkind's arrogance destroyed, the castle was transported by ancient and powerful magic to another plane of existence where it would be safe.
In the centuries of solitude, it has seen dark magic begin to creep into it's halls and corridors, along with the expected creatures and molds that inhabit dark and untraveled places.
But the castle is not entirely uninhabited. A single family of Guardians has watched over it since its construction, even in this darkened plane it now resides in. Two sisters remain, pushing the creatures and the darkness back where they can to preserve their Charge. Though the dark magic has also begun to find its way into them.
The two are powerful mages, descended from those who managed to whisk the castle away, and have proven that they are capable of such plane-bending magic as well. The castle may only be accessed from Sornieth when they decide to pay a visit. Where an ancient cast-iron gate appears, with darkness behind, they can usually be found somewhere nearby, and this entrance disappears it seems as soon as they travel back through it.
Though they are used to the solitude of their castle, Vyrma and Nevne sometimes desire the company of others for a short time. The two have found that they blend into the populace of Sornieth best around Halloween, when most dragons will be in costume and many places are decorated with the spiderwebs, broken tombstones, and bones that are always present in and around their home.
However, it seems that recently they have taken an interest in Familiars, as there are none where they are from. They have placed small stones all around Sornieth, likely to be overlooked by dragons, that will transport the one who touches them to Castle Itreforn.
