Jira notably prefers the companionship of familiars to that of her fellow dragons. She spends much of her time on the move, so she can't afford to care for all of the clan's unmatched familiars, but she does have something of a makeshift "pack" that travels with her.

These two dragons are my progenitors, Eridor and Banshee. They're the first two dergs to have ever bonded with a familiar in my lair! They always bond with some creatures of sort, as they think having all these little allies around Sornieth could come in handy. Furthermore, they love to cuddle their favourites, so why not?
As you can see, they even have their own special companion! Eridor likes "Bruschetta" the cat, takes it in every journey he takes around the world alongside his mate Banshee.

Shadowfax is a shy, gentle dragon who spends most of her time in her lair nowadays. Able to understand the words of animals she finds them much easier to get along with than other dragons, or beastclans. Dragons and beastclan who manipulate, who lie, who try to make her do things for their own ends while pretending to have her own interests at heart. Dragons and Beastclan who love her, then hurt her, then love her again...
Animals are just easier than all that.
She's always liked animals, has always been the clan's familiar keeper. But she used to be more social with it, willing to give a kind word or a furry hug here and there when people needed it. Now she tends to shy away when someone enters her cave and let Icicle - her own personal White Wolf familiar - keep them away. She spends her days feeding and caring for the animals of the clan, in a quandary over her own feelings towards the Dragon-and-Serthis-in-one weredragon who put her in this place, Vitomir, or Vahid. Vahid who loves her, Vitomir who attacked her, Vahid who helped her clan fix her. The merged mess of a being who now stands there, who she somehow still cares for, who her clan wants her to court to tame his chaotic mind.
Animals are definitely easier than this. Why can't she just be left alone to keep the animals happy?
(Note: Vitomir, the weredragon mentioned, is owned by a friend not me - we have a fair bit of inter-clan lore, and this is part of it.)

Then there is the origin and controller of almost all the [i]undead[/i] familiars in the clan. This, of course, would be [b]Vardijurn[/b].

I will mostly save talking about Vardijurn for another theme week that might suit him a little bit more, but he sort of suits this in a sideways manner and he's relevant to Shadowfax's story... He's a necromancer, seeking the path to true resurrection. Little does he know that necromancy will never lead him there, and that the shade magic he uses for it is slowly corrupting him... My clan has banned him from practising on dragons, and thus he spends his time experimenting on the dead animals the guards bring for him from their rounds, creating all kinds of undead abominations. There are now quite a few undead creatures roaming the clan, aiding in guarding from aggressors and, for some intrepid dragons, acting as familiars.
His relevance to Shadowfax is, quite simply, that he was one of the first dragons in my clan to meet Vitomir and studied how his transformation potions work. Because of this he was critical in - with Vahid's help - undoing what Vitomir did to Shadowfax.

Valmai is the best candidate! He loves nature and every living creature, including clan's animal companions! He teaches the young hatchlings about the proper care and bonding with familiars and looks after them

Macon. Anytime someone has a health problem with their Familiar he's the first stop. He normally only handles the most common of breeds.
