- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - • a b o u t • "Lost to the shade, the eternal darkness which cloaks the Sorneith skies during the moonless nights. That's where my calling was... Not that it was my choice. I've accepted it now. The pain has actually lessened since I've stopped resisting it. Though I'm still not entirely sure what its plans for me are. Azurite says I'm chosen. Treats me like some kind of dark god, Hells she spent all of last night petting my feathers. Which actually hurts a lot mind you. I still can't feel anything but- On the plus side, I have more control." Ezekiel sat in his den, grasping an inked quill in between his fingers. His silver eyes darting cooly over the words he'd scribbled down in a hasty manner, the ethereal mist that grips the terrain of these ruins slithered between his feathers sending shivers down his deformed body. He felt better. Sort of. Clicking his sharpened fangs together he rolled up the piece of parchment and stood up, reclaiming his mask from the floor. The Demon tossed the scroll with the massive pile that was steadily beginning to grow with every passing day. He made a mental note to have Mismar help him burn them. His talons tapped against the cool stone floor as he swept from his den with the finesse of a Veilspun; Azurite's voice was heard down in her den. She was yelling at her mate again. Something about him hosting a nest with another female? "Relationships." Ezekiel shook his head with a grunt and snatched a wayward lizard off the crumbling stone wall, popping the wriggling creature into his mouth. His eye twitched when he felt its bones pop in his mouth. Sadly, he still had no sense of taste and it only further disappointed him. Grudgingly he'd swallowed the unlucky creature and made his way past the mists. Sunlight temporarily blinded him. His tail lashing as he scrambled to put his mask on in a feeble attempt to block out the overwhelming rays. "Eze?" A smooth, soft voice had him choking on his saliva as he came face to face with the dragoness who had become his object of affection so many times before. Sadira was out here alone... Gathering berries? Probably something to help with her work.. His feathered crest tingled, his face warming since he'd almost ran directly into her. "What are you doing out here?" Stupid. Stupid. Stupid- Ah she's glaring at him. Great. "Gathering food for the clan, you?" Her hood was back revealing those lovely ruby eyes that always seemed to captivate him. How long had it been since he'd had these feelings? He couldn't recall. "Getting some sun. Um... Want some help?" He offered, talons shuffling nervously as he lowered his head in slight submission. When her gaze softened he relaxed slightly, and coughed before looking away. "I'm... Not exactly busy." Curse the dragons who got to her before him. If only he'd been more straight forward then maybe... "Eze... Are you feeling alright?" He yelped feeling her talon on his shoulder and he nodded rapidly, he didn't feel her warmth but the sensation was there. Phantom at best. Like always. Embarrassment fueled him when she quickly grasped both sides of his masked face. He gazed longingly into those red eyes like he had so many times before especially when he was wearing his mask. It made socialization easier, even if he couldn't breathe sometimes. Oh well. "You're feverish again." "I am not. Just... Got things on my mind is all. I think the stress is getting to me." "Have you had any night terrors?" Her crest shuddered, and he watched as the patterned blue feathers fanned out in worry. She was so cute. His heart was racing as he reached out, his own talon grasping her chin. Sadira tensed as he rested his masked forehead against hers. "I'm fine, Sadira. Don't fret. Let's just go get the clan fed." He pulled away before the fickle confidence he'd had melted away in an awkward pile, gulping he took the basket from her and started off ahead of her. Sadira laughed and shook her head while he mentally applauded himself. Yep. He didn't need to feel her warmth considering the warmth blooming in his chest from that sweet sound. He'd die a happy drake if the last thing he'd ever hear was her laughter.
