Heyo, sliding in finally with my Gaolitchshades, and basics of their lore-- Here's the eldest (and firstborn child of Regis), Evelyn, who has the ability to use 5 trees as gateways, and did you know that trees mumble? Well,,, not caretaker, but more so a watcher, someone to try and help young Gaolitchshades to unlock their abilities? I ask mostly because I bought a Naomi descendent and wanted to fill in some extra lore for her.

Welcome! Glad to see you posting in here! And I'm actually happy that you ask about the small stuff -- I think being careful is a good trait! It helps to avoid mistakes that lead to a bigger mess later down the road. (I'm talking in general, not Gaolitchshade-specific here!)

As for your question, I know you asked Liezerota, but I'll be happy to answer at least a little bit, since this isn't something we talked about yet.

I think it can be answered by looking at the component pieces to Gaolitchshade: Naomi, Shade, and Gaoler.
- Naomi provides the glitchiness, which is why Arcane Gaolitchshades tend to have reality-breaking abilities which may or may not be fully under their control.
- The Shade provides a connection between all Gaolitchshades via the Shade collective consciousness.
- Gaoler heritage provides the Gaolitchshades' physical form, and in some cases, anti-shade genetics constantly at war with their Shade DNA. (This is especially evident in Ice Gaolitchshades, who may act more like normal Gaolers than other kinds of Gaolitchshades.)

So, as there are 3 main components, there are 3 main attributes, one for each component:
Naomi/Glitch - breakage from the confines of reality (physics, space-time, etc.)
Shade - purpose/knowledge/community
Gaoler - Physical form/conflicting opposition (This side of Gaolitchshades will always be at war with the Shade component)
(All this is at least hinted at in the opening post, but wasn't really broken down in detail like this.)

Bearing all that in mind, only fellow Gaolitchshades or dragons who have given their minds over to the collective (NOT Shadetouched who resist the Shade in some way and thus either retain their own mind or lose their sanity) will truly be able to instruct/train Gaolitchshades in their abilities. (The Shade, after all, is the knowledge component to Gaolitchshades, as their minds are connected.) The glitch aspect, which they may or may not share with other Naomi descendants, is unstable (because, well, it's a glitch - it doesn't conform to the laws of reality. A glitch, after all, is a break in how things are designed to go) and unpredictable. Though you may write what you want to, understanding and knowledge are orderly concepts, whereas glitches are inherently chaotic. It wouldn't make much sense if order, control, and understanding came from the glitchy side of things, would it? They could definitely find sympathy and kindred spirits within one another though, I'm sure.

I have a couple of not so little ones to register from Ashnyra's nest with my Wentiko boy. they have lore in their bios. :3 [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=55954562] [img]https://flightrising.com/rendern/350/559546/55954562_350.png[/img] [/url] Ardan, First born son, he has a talent for realistic illusions, once one of these illusions is conjured they can be touched with no difference felt between it and the real thing. he also has the talent of 'reading' his environment with some accuracy, other than that he is faster than most dragons and stronger, but lacks the Wentiko's insanity and constant hunger. he did inherit the instincts that wentikos use while hunting, becoming savage and brutal when pushed too far in a battle. [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=55954563] [img]https://flightrising.com/rendern/350/559546/55954563_350.png[/img] [/url] Deidre, second born, first born daughter, she has and odd bond with mammals and reptiles and can speak with them. she is also a seer, having visions of events that may or may not happen as well as being faster than most dragons and unusually strong because of her Wentiko blood, like her twin she lacks the insanity and constant hunger that. what she does have in it's place is a strong instinct that wentikos use to hunt, becoming a savage creature of pure instinct when pushed in a battle.

Gaolitchshade to Gaolitchshade: We are one.
Sane Naomispawn to Gaolitchshade: Oh wow heh; yeah, we're messed up. Ooo, taco-shaped bubbles!
Insane Naomispawn to Gaolitchshade: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- Ooo, taco-shaped bubbles!

Heyo and welcome to the main thread! =D Wow, their eyes got so big and shiny. XD I can't wait to take a look at their lore! Just remember to keep in mind that they won't be as glitchy as Arcane ones, but they'll have a deeper connection to the Shade, being Shadow Gaolitchshades. Of course, each individual is unique!

Just from your descriptions, does Deidre communicate with the mammals and reptiles by seeping a bit of Shade into them? That would make sense since the shade connects beings' minds!

I did try to keep a stronger connection to the Shade in mind while I wrote their lore. :3

Yes actually, I played around with a couple of other ideas while I was writing her lore, but that one was what made the most sense. Ardan's 'reading' his surroundings also has more to do with the Shade than any natural ability. :3

@RogueDemon Neat! So, I'm curious (though you may have included this in their bios; I just haven't been able to read them yet) how do these two plan on spreading the Shade? Looks like they have mates picked out, so through lineage is one way, obviously. Oh, speaking of which, you may want to put their lineage into their bios. Like, the whole pedigree. It verifies them both as royal Gaolitchshades and as Naomi descendants. Check out one of their cousins' bits for reference (you can mostly copy theirs.) Tentatively they'll spread the Shade through lineage since no idea has really stood out to me yet, I fully plan on having another way for them to spread the Shade though. :3
