Nature Legacy: Generation 7 Rowan and Briar laid three eggs. Predictably enough, they all came out as mirrors; disappointingly, they all came out with basic tertiaries too. To cap my sense of dissatisfaction, the RNG insisted on giving me the 2nd hatchling as heir, also known as "the one I like least." His tertiary is also a bright yellow color, so I named him Lemon. After the tree. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. He'd probably look ok with gembond. It's just that the first-hatched looks more classically tree-nature colored, and the third-hatched was a double, and both of them had the green-ranged tertiaries I'm going for so...yeah. On the upside, I sold the XYY sibling pretty quickly! He's even gotten new genes (he hatched with speckle / daub / basic I believe). I named them Ivy and Cattail. Cute as a (big) button, this lady is named Buttonbush:

Fire Legacy: Gen 6 Lilinoe and Lopaka had three eggs. The heir, sad to say, looks pretty much like his mother (I'm really glad this is a look I'm mostly OK with, because I'm seeing a lot of it). His name is Maleko. (Edit: He was bought by a new user, yay! His name and genes now subject to change, of course, so I'm recording here that he was originally Black Ripple / Blood Peregrine / Lemon Basic.) His sisters actually did take after their father a little bit, so I'm kind of happy about that. The darker colored one even has the orange tertiary, and would really look like Lopaka in coloration if only she'd also picked up the gene. Nature Legacy: Generation 8 Lemon and Buttonbush laid a 5 egg nest! They got to be my first legacy hatchlings of the new color wheel. The heir snagged two new colors and a breed upgrade (but still no tertiary). I might not have minded having the first-hatched as heir, as he was much more vibrant. With a tan tertiary, he's also pretty much a classic tree dragon. The others aren't so bad either, just a little more muted. Oh, and for added fun, they have slightly interesting numbers 24444433 - 24444437 (The heir is 24444434). Overall, a really nice clutch. :D Mangrove's mate is this lovely nocturne, Vibernum. Her brother is actually even prettier but she's pretty awesome already. @NetShy

This is a brilliant idea! Would you mind if I started a similar thread for my legacy challenges? I've kind of lost excitement for my oldest one--crackle mirrors everywhere--and I think having a thread like this would bring it back!

Of course I don't mind :) I don't think the idea is original to me anyway. Ping me if you do, I love to see other people's challenges (and stories and things) too.

Hi, I'm Cattail's person. I finally went through and read the thread that he came with a link to. Great work. This is a very impressive project, and I wish you the best of luck. Cattail did, btw, keep his name :) He also has a lady-friend named Reed. I did change his wing gene and gave him a tertiary gene, though, hehe.

Oh, that's awesome :) It's always so exciting when the dragons from the legacy bloodlines go off and have branch families of their own! It's especially cool that a nature legacy dragon ended up in a nature lair, where the grand-hatchies can get nature eyes like the founder. Oh, and I love the stripey theme you're giving him, too - the portrait in his bio is you overall plan, I take it?

I updated the notes about him above to reflect the expected changes are in his genes, not his name ;)

@Haisyn
I'm glad you like them :) The next generation should be hatching by the end of the week, I hope; they're just waiting on lair space. (That means the current heir will be for sale soon, incidentally.) Would you like a ping when I post the new generation?

Yep, that is the plan :) I think it fits with his name. His mate has speckle for some variety in the hatchlings. One happy little marshy family, hehe
