While it is debatable whether the author was really mad or not, all dragons acknowledge that the book leaves a massive trail of insanity in its wake. The Necronomicon describes forgotten histories, dangerous artifacts, atrocious monsters, terrible rites, and Outer Gods... Curious readers find themselves mentally warped as their perception of "reality" shifts: dragonkind is very small, stupid, and powerless compared to the other forces of the universe. Any dragon smart enough to understand the incantations is smart enough never to use them, for survival during these events depends entirely on luck.
Officially, only five copies of the Necronomicon exist in Sornieth's present, and they are almost impossible to gain access to. However, a persistent seeker will likely find an "illegal" edition, which ranges from quoted snippets, poor translations, or even entire tomes that somehow passed notice. Shrewd owners have been known to protect their copy by disguising it as another book entirely, although this runs the risk of accidental discovery by any book-loving clan members.

NECRONOMICON
While it is debatable whether the author was really mad or not, all dragons acknowledge that the book leaves a massive trail of insanity in its wake. The Necronomicon describes forgotten histories, dangerous artifacts, atrocious monsters, terrible rites, and Outer Gods... Any dragon smart enough to understand the incantations is smart enough never to use them, for survival during these events depends entirely on luck.
Officially, only five copies of the Necronomicon exist in Sornieth's present, and they are almost impossible to gain access to. Nyarlathotep is one of the Outer Gods, although he inhabits Sornieth and Dreamland more often than any other cosmic being. Nyarlathotep seems to be the only one who can successfully change his appearance into more palatable creatures. When walking among dragons, he tends to become a skydancer for its height and pose. No matter the form, he always appears to be darkly colored, and his bearing is compared to an ancient Pharaoh.
He usually wears dark cloaks or alchemical trinkets. However, he has been known to dress more playfully when he confronts a particularly cheeky dreamer.
He gained the epithet "The Crawling Chaos" for good reason. He is known to serve Azathoth's ill intentions, and he viciously protects Sornieth's gods. Sometimes, he poses as a powerful arcanist, putting on prophetic shows with elaborate devices. Dragons should avoid these at all costs; curious viewers will become possessed by his enchantments.

Nestled between two mountains, the city was full of marble towers, citadels, and fortifications. It is very near the pole, which makes it very cold. In winter, it would be left in twilit darkness, even during the day, so that the stars were always visible. The city looks ethereal and ghostly during these months. During the summer, the city would be under constant, pale sunlight.
The city is inhabited by Lomarians refugees from Zobna, which was overtaken by advancing glacier fields. Iranon is a prince in Dreamland. When he was very young, he was separated from his family when they fled in exile. Ever since then, he has sought to return to his birth city of Aira. However, he cannot remember where Aira is located; he only has vague memories and bedtime stories to remind him of what it looked like. He has vowed to never give up searching until he finds it.
Iranon remains forever a child as he goes on his quest, even though his companions continue growing up around him. He has a beautiful singing voice, which he uses to tell others about his wistful scraps of memories. He dresses in very simply, with vines in his golden hair and tattered purple robes.
Aira itself is a beautiful city of marble and beryl, that seems to glow golden in the sunlight. It is nestled in a lush valley and the smell of flowers always fills the air. The area is full of bright rivers, waterfalls, pools, and fountains. From the citadel, the viewer can have a breathtaking view of the entire city.

Rhan-Tegoth is one of the Great Old Ones that found themselves trapped on Sornieth, and one of the last to go into hibernation. It is a spawn of Shub-Niggurath ("The Goat with a Thousand Young") and was entrusted with waking Cthluhu in his sunken city.
Rhan-Tegoth is roughly spherical body, coated by tiny tentacles that end in snake-like mouths. It also has six longer appendages with pincers. Its globular head is characterized by three small eyes, a moth-like proboscis, and a pair of gills. While its size (roughly 15 feet tall) may not seem intimidating, Rhan-Tegoth has an acidic venom powerful enough to incapacitate any dragon. It uses its many tentacles to crush its victims and drain them of any fluids.
Since Rhan-Tegoth is immortal, it cannot be killed. However, its amphibious nature leaves it is vulnerable to ranged attacks. Strong opposition will convince the deity to return to slumber.

RHAN-TEGOTH

While past sorcerers retrieved a dead mind through essential saltes, a pair of healers has recently invented an elixir that can restore a dead body. The pair reasoned that if the biological process of decomposition could be halted, then a dragon could be resuscitated far after "death" had occurred. Although their initial tests on the beastclans were successful, they were quickly prosecuted by the medical community and forced to experiment in secret.
The two healers used their limited resources to prevent local deaths. While bodies were easily restored, the reanimated victims were always dangerously suicidal and/or homicidal upon their return. The healers would not accept defeat; instead, they altered their recipe and waited for the next accident.
What started as noble aspirations eventually spiraled into an obsession to perfect the process. The pair began with grave-robbing and ended with opportunistic serial murder as they became ever-desperate to find fresh corpses.

R'lyeh is a massive city, preserved for aeons by Cthulhu's petrifying spell. Because it was built by a Great Old One, the geometry is multi-dimensional and seems irregular to the current inhabitants of Sornieth. Its overwhelming size and unnatural build has been known to give even the hardiest viewers vertigo. An overbearing smell of rotting fish fills the air.
The city was located on an island somewhere to the east of the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. However, the island sank to the ocean floor, taking the city with it. Occasionally, an earthquake will cause the very peak of the city to surface, exposing the doors to the main temple.

R'lyeh was built by Cthulhu and his spawn to be their temporary abode. Cthulhu used to fly across the universe, destroying world after world, until he became stranded in Sornieth when the stars became misaligned. Biding his time until he could reach another world, he went into a hibernal sleep in the temple of his city.

However, those who make their lairs there might one day discover that they suddenly cannot find the way back.
The location is as grim as its inhabitants. Past the noxious black river and the decrepit warehouses, the street slopes so steeply that flying is sometimes necessary.
