And just as suddenly, the wind and the mist are gone, and your feet stand firmly on familiar ground. You take in the familiar smell of dry bamboo and listen to the whooshing blades of the windmills. You did not realize you missed that. You are right next to your nest. You climb in and curl up for a well-deserved snooze. You will need to do some exploring, you decide, to figure out where your home is. You're spoiled for choice for where to start. You look forward to the adventure. You cannot wait to go home. You hand some scrolls to the guardian selling tickets. He lets you onto a balloon. A nocturne is piloting it. You wait a few more minutes. Three more dragons and a kitsune climb on before the dragon pushes off. You do not notice the time passing as the balloon floats along. The other guests on the balloon are talking and laughing, and you talk and laugh with them. One other dragon is going home. The rest are going there as tourists. You regale them with stories about your home, most of them heavily embellished. You do not realize you are there until the balloon touches down. "Welcome to the Millmeadows!" the nocturne announces. You are all surprised. You thank him before climbing off the balloon. The other dragons (and one kitsune) go their separate ways. You take in the familiar smell of dry bamboo and listen to the whooshing blades of the windmills. You did not realize you missed that. That makes it easy, in some ways. The Cloudsong is a big place, and you'll need to search a long time to find the kite for you, or to build a new one for yourself. But that can wait. If it's beyond the Plateau, you search a little longer, but eventually you find a ridgeback who does airship flights across Sornieth. You'll stick around the Cloudsong a while, you decide, at least to enjoy some of the festival. And then, your journey begins.
