Nothing that the guards can't handle, but they're so frequent that it's odd. However it's likely that the animals are just hungry due to the recent lack of almost any food. One night, the Hoard was attacked, leaving almost no food left. The clan was so outraged at the hoard organizer, Daffodil, that an unidentified dragon attacked her the night after the attack. No one knew who it was, but most dragons believed it was Maeby. However, there was no proof to back this up so nothing happened. For the next few days, the dragons of the Lavaburst Clan are hurrying to get food. The strategists have at least half of the dragons hunting at a time. It takes around a month to replenish, but that month is hell. Dragons, especially those who eat meat and seafood, are consistently hungry for four weeks. The main priorities are hatchlings, none of which starved during the time. Additionally, there would be a few fights that would break out over food and some more dragons left questioning Zhyrine's leadership. next: the lavaburst killings

Here, dragons come to pursue greater lives and lead as the people they want to be. Along buildings you will find benches, soft yellow trees, and the occasional enchanted street-light. The scent of flowers fills the air and gives you sense of safety. Dragons typically live with their families in their youth. In their adulthood, they live either alone or with their partner. Each dragon's home is titled ____'s Residence or ____'s and ____'s Residence. The residence of larger dragons such as Imperials, Guardians and Ridgebacks are built away from smaller homes of the smaller dragons. For example, most Faes live in the same area and most Ridgebacks live in the same area. Smaller dragons can live with larger dragons if they are mates, family, or etc. Lavaburst Castle (Theme) - The Lavaburst Castle is where the clan's royalty lives. It has several chambers, one of which is the meeting hall for the Court of Superiors. It stands tall over the city on a jagged cliff. The Court meets weekly every Thursday. Lavaburst Marketplace (Theme (Main)/Theme/Theme) - Lavaburst Marketplace is a marketplace near the front of the city. It's near places such as the Illuminated Inn and most of the medium-sized dragons' residences, so it's always bustling with life. There are stands set up with very diverse wares from herbs to stolen trinkets. There are many buildings and structures within the city as provided below. The Giant Crater (Theme) A large, deep crater. At its shadowy and dark bottom is the prison. From the bottom is a crag jutting out of the ground, housing the Cathedral of the Sacred Light. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUILDINGS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watchtowers 1, 2, 3, 4 (Theme) - On the four sides of the city, four watchtowers stand. There is usually at least one to two guards in each, but it isn't uncommon for them to be empty. Inside, there are logs detailing days of watching, and different sorts of weaponry. Most importantly, there is a bonfire inside each of the towers. If danger draws near or something horrible happens, the dragon(s) present is to light the bonfire. The Belltower (Theme)- A tall building adjacent to the City Clearing. The bell inside is used to summon the residents of the city to appear in the clearing for a meeting. It will also ring when the clan is under attack. City Center (Theme/Theme/Theme) - A circular space surrounded by buildings. It's where the residents of the clan meet if summoned. There is an elevated stage where the speaker stands to address the clan. This is also where the Lavaburst Market is held. Suncloud Park (Theme) - Suncloud Park is a small park made from the part of the city that was never really turned into buildings. There's a lot of bushes, flowers and etc. Additionally, there are also winding paths and benches. Lavaburst Academy (Theme/Theme) - In the academy, there are five classrooms and a teacher room. Here, hatchlings are taught by their teachers. Light pours in from large windows and the walls are adorned with bookshelves filled to the brim with books. The classrooms have rows of tables with two hatchlings per table. Gym (Theme) - The gym is where hatchlings are taught self-defense, magical and physical attacks, and learn physical education. It's a very, very spacious room with bleachers built into a wall. The walls of this building seem a bit more reinforced than other buildings. It is connected to the academy by a hallway. Merchant Keep (Theme) - A small building filled with the items sold by the clan's merchants and maps of the routes they take. There's a lock on the door. The Nesting Grounds (Theme/Theme) - A bright, happy place where eggs grow. There are crates of playthings and in a small room. Towards the back of the structure are three nests housing quivering eggs. Hatchlings and hatchlings without parents are cared for by the caretaker. The Alchemist's Area (Theme) - This is where alchemists do their work. To create is their purpose and they preform it well. Aligning the back wall of the structure, there are many shelves aligned with materials with alchemical properties, and many more with the results of their work. Bordering the rest of the walls are shelves filled with books on alchemy, transmutation and things of the like. To the center of the main room are many tables topped with materials and concoctions--its where the alchemists tinker and create. The Seer (Theme) - This place has no name and is always referred to as "The Seer" as this is where the seer works. Here, he uses supernatural insight to see what the future holds. He may predict future hatchlings of pairs or shows what a young dragon will grow up to become. In fact, he is so powerful he can see different futures for one dragon. It's quiet here. The only sound is the seer as he hums some forgotten tune. It's dark, illuminated objects being the only source of light in the odd, small building. The Witchdoctors' Hut (Theme) - A small dimly lit grouping of rooms where the witchdoctors work. As the door swings open, strange ethereal fumes pour out of the room. The center of the main room holds a huge, bubbling cauldron filled to the brim with odd substance. There are books and journals filled with studies on shelves towards the back of the room. A room is used simply for all the supplies. The wtchdoctor is gifted with the magic of healing, protection, and divination magic, but he must perfect it. Before a battle, he enchants the armors and scales of his fellow clanmates and are currently working on ways to make said enchantments stronger. His healing is especially weak and is known to cause strange side effects. He is most prominent for their practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means. The Clinic (Theme/Theme) - Where the qualified practitioners of medicine, or doctors, work. The clinic is neat and orderly, and the walls are bordered with shelves of medicines, herbs and other objects with medical properties. Light pours in from the windows, adding a calm appearance to the area. It is two floors and looks similar to a modern day hospital, save for the technology. The doctors are certified by the clan's matriarch to perform surgery, but they don't have a degree of course! They're often busy developing medicines and treating the sickly and wounded. However, it isn't uncommon for them to use magical healing. They're experimenting with that as well. The Strategists' Room (Theme) - Where strategists plan for wars and battles, daily work for the warriors and guards, and other things. The one-room building is lit only by a lamp placed on a large table topped with a map of Sornieth. Three seats of different sizes are placed in front of the table. To the back of the room is a crate filled with maps of other clan lairs and other strange things. The Treasurer's Den (Theme) - A small building dedicated to the works of the treasurer. When the door swings open, one can smell the sickly sweet of flowers. The room is quite messy, the floor is littered with papers filled with numbers and words. The Forge (Theme) - A dim room lit only by the fires and lava used by the blacksmith. Towards the front of room is everything from armors to weapons to jewelry. Feel free to request something, the blacksmith doesn't mind. The Assassins' Cove (Theme) - Where the clan's assassins plan and plot. The walls are adorned with wanted posters of both Beastclan and dragon targets. There's a table with a crate filled with maps on it. Some of the maps are lying on the table, and have red dots marking crucial locations on them. The room is lit by torches adorning the walls. There's a crate of intelligence and research near the back of the structure shrouded by the dark of the room. There is always at least one assassin inside, usually the assassin captain, to protect the important information inside, even though there is a lock on the door. Assassins will practice their usual tactics of stealth and hiding. They also study the Beastclans to make battling against them easier in the future. Killing important dragons and Beastclan members is hard, but it pays very well. 50% of their pay goes to the clan's funds. The Spykeep (Theme) - A small building lit only by candles where the spies work and plan. There is a huge lock on the door, and only spies have the keys. There's a huge table inside topped with papers and strange objects. In a basement hidden under a table, all the intelligence is kept in a few crates. There are no windows. The Scouts' Den (Theme)- A two story structure with a huge open window in its top floor. The door seems to be broken and it's very hard to move. Like many other rooms within the city, there are many maps, but these mark merchant routes and clan borders. Here, the scout master will send scouts to where they need to be. The Hall of Warriors and Guards (Theme) - A large hall where warriors and guards meet to receive their daily duties. Light pours in from giant windows and orderly tables are aligned in an orderly fashion. To the front of the hall is a stage for addressing the hall's occupants. The Invoker's Lair (Theme) - An odd room where the windows are covered as to maintain quiet and dark. As the door creaks, purple fumes burst forth. Here, the invoker does his work. Everyday he prays to the elemental deities for wellbeing, guidance, and assistance... He also studies spirits and incantations, and can summon to assist and guide them. The Hoard (Theme) - The building where food, materials and items are stored. Food is stored away from materials, as such there are different rooms. Meat, insects and seafood is kept fresh with Ice magic and plant-like food is kept fresh with Nature magic. Nestled in the canyon and cliff in the Sunbeam Ruins and the Shifting Expanse stands a great city, where voices never go unheard.

BUILDINGS

Watchtowers 1, 2, 3, 4 (Theme) - On the four sides of the city, four watchtowers stand.

Dragons tend to come to the hoard when they require materials for their jobs and etc.

Chef's Space (Theme) - Adjacent to the Hoard for obvious reasons. This is where the chef prepares the clan's weekly rations. It smells a lot like varied spices inside. Dragons receive weekly rations.

Astronomer's Lookout (Theme) - A spacious room in one of the highest points of the Lavaburst Castle. Inspired by the Observatory in the Starfall Isles, a telescope protrudes from the castle faces the sky. Inside, there are shelves among shelves filled with the astronomer's studies. There are sketches and drawings of odd celestial bodies.

The Wall of Mourning (Theme/Theme) - A huge wall much taller and wider than an imperial dragon. The wall is adorned with the wings and nameplates of the departed, preserved by Ice and Nature magic. It is part of the Ceremony of Mourning and is located behind the Cathedral of the Sacred Light.

Beasts and Familiars Garden (Theme) - A large, beautiful garden created by the herbalist and beasts and familiars caretaker modeled after the Mire. The area is filled with chirping and growling. Part of the area is filled with trees, a favorite of airborne creatures. Two ponds take the opposite sides of the garden, one freshwater and one saltwater.

This provides housing to the clan's beasts, which may be used for battle, comfort or other reasons. They are also trained here. A dragon is welcome to temporarily leave their familiar there, unless they have had a former alignment with the Beastclans, as the current beastkeeper hates the Beastclans with burning passion.

The Library (Theme/Theme) - A huge two-story building filled with books on virtually everything. It's very quiet and one can get a whiff of fresh flowers. The cryptozoologist is holed up here in a study filled with her research.

The Lab (Theme) - Where the geneticist and other scientists practice their work. It's usually quiet, as they focus hard on their work.

Apparel Shop (Theme) - This is where the tailor and jeweler works. You can ask them to make you something and buy apparel there.

Herbalist's Haven (Theme) - This is where the herbalist carries out her work of growing plants used for feeding the clan, selling for gold via the merchants, healing properties via doctors, alchemist, and witchdoctors, and for feeding the clan's plant-consuming beasts and familiars. It's very quiet, but you'll almost always find the herbalist here.

The Cathedral of the Sacred Light (Theme) - Where the clan honors the deity the Lightweaver. Most dragons pray weekly on Sunday. The Lavaburst Clan's beliefs are not forced upon their dragons and many pray to multiple deities.

The cathedral is quite large to appease the deity of light and contains a statue of the Lightweaver inside.

The Lavaburst Prison (Theme) - A dimly lit building located at the bottom of a dark, dark crater. Prisoners are treated with decency, of course. There are jail cells, two interrogation rooms, a yard, the Warden's Office, and the cafeteria.

The Inn of the Illuminated (Theme/Theme) - A two-floor tavern serving lodging, drinks, and food. The first floor is the bar and the second floor are rooms for sleeping. The trading post in the Hewn has a near duplicate version of this tavern known as the Dragon's Lava. It is run by Wisteria.

Guest Residences (Theme)- A collection of residences where guests and visitors stay as long as they are in the city. It should be noted that there is an inn, so these residences are for special guests such as ambassadors and etc.

Rosebrook Residences (Theme) - A collection of homes belonging to Faes only. The residences here are much smaller because Faes are the smallest breed of dragon.

Skylark Residences (Theme/Theme) - A collection of homes belonging to Bogsneaks, Skydancers, Pearlcatchers, Mirrors, Coatls, Spirals, Nocturnes, Wildclaws, Tundras and Snappers. In short, it belongs to medium-sized dragons. The homes here vary in sizes a little.

Stonecrest Residences (Theme/Theme) - A collection of homes belonging to Ridgebacks, Guardians, and Imperials. In short, it belongs to longer, bigger dragons. Homes here slightly vary in size.

Refugee Housing (Theme) - Any refugees or escapees from other clans are placed here for the time being. It is basically a very small collection of houses gathered in a circle. These houses aren't as good as the ones in the residence collections. There are only six houses.

IMPORTANT LOCATIONS OUTSIDE THE CITY

The Glade (Theme) - The Glade is the training grounds for Lavaburst dragons to hone their abilities and skills. It is quiet, and the clan likes to think no other dragons go there (They're wrong.). It's a clearing surrounded by a thick collection of yellow trees. Constant use has worn the grass away, leaving only dirt and earth. Dummies litter the area.

The few bits of information including that he drives his victims insane nears volcanoes and does so by chanting. He is likely a very strong magical user. He is a male Coatl. Lucerne has dubbed him the "Firestorm Torturer". - She is too terrified to go too close to the kidnapper during his works at fear of suffering the same fate as the "Tortured", as she calls his victims. However, she does study the Tortured. - During their torment, the Tortured will scream and buck violently against their restraints as though the chant hurts them. They will also close their eyes and shake their head fiercely. By the end of the chant, however, they will have gone still as if they have died. - As the torturer chants, his eyes begin to brightly glow. Staring him in the eyes would likely leave you blind. "War is inevitable."

(Enemy Clans Are Not Owned by Real People)

THE FLAMING EMPIRE

fire_contest.png

Location: Border of the Ashfall Waste, adjacent to the Shifting Expanse and Sea of a Thousand Currents. Partially underground lair as to keep non-Fire Flight dragons cool.
Dragons: 82
Hatchlings: 18
Origin of Dispute: Border disputes. Dragons from both clans kept crossing the unclear borders.

The Flaming Empire takes glory in their gorgeous armor and massive wars. When they decide a target, they will surely be eliminated at the hands of their many powerful dragons.

Other

- Multi-Flight and Dominantly One Species Clan

- Dominantly Fire, Plague and Nature dragons

- Dominantly Coatls, the rest are Wildclaws and Others

- Dominantly males

- Monarchy

- Leader, Pyre, is a Fire Coatl male, Carmine Tiger/Fire Stripes/Blood Underbelly, magic attacks user (Appearance)

- Does not exalt dragons

- Known for their ruthlessness to captives and passerby

- Many Flaming Empire dragons have kinetic/manipulation abilities. A Lavaburst spy, Lucerne, has brought it upon herself to research these abilities as much as she can

Ranking

- King (The ruler of the Flaming Empire)

- Royal Family (The king's lover and family)

- Nobles (Those who the king dubs very crucial to the empire)

- High Ones (Underneath the nobles, but still important to the king and the empire.)

- Medium Ones (Those with roles not too important, but still necessary to the empire's survival.)

- Dark Plumages (Coatls with dark coloring used only for slave work. They are not treated with any sort of respect.)

Spy Information

- The Flaming Empire has one spy assigned to it - Lucerne.

- The Flaming Empire has many torturers, they perform their work physically. Lucerne knows most of them and outs them to Lavaburst dragons. They are eventually killed.

- Torturers tend to be the strongest dragons in the clan. They usually possess either powerful magic or are very physically strong, sometimes both. They also wear specific clothing during their work. Five have been eliminated by Lavaburst assassins.

The Call to the Tortured

- Lucerne has discovered that there is a dragon among the Flaming Empire that will kidnap those who they deem traitors and will drive them insane with an odd, strange sort of magic before enchanting them to carry out a suicide attack on an enemy clan.

- What Lucerne knows about this kidnapper is very little.

"Bringer of cleansing fire,
Bare Her flaming eyes,
engulf yourself in the holy blazes.
Turn over your all and cease to be!"

- The Tortured, after their torment, have eyes sharing the similar appearance of dead dragons. Additionally, their eyes will be orange if they were not before. It's as if their Flight changed. They are enchanted to be his puppet, and he usually has them carry out a suicide attack on an enemy clan.

The Coliseum
tumblr_inline_obxzdghOP71r7h5sq_540.jpg

The coliseum provides training for only the strongest of warriors. As dragons go through venue through venue, it gets harder and harder. Additionally, it can also provide resources and food if they fight the right enemies.

The Coliseum Company farms the coliseum venues to obtain food and resources.

The Coliseum Company

Only the three most strongest clan members are selected to be on the coliseum company.

Askook - Company Leader

26209722.png
Askook, leader of the company! He uses Fire attacks and is a physical attacker. While he's usually a sweet lil Tundra, he isn't afraid to don his suit of armor and fight for his clan, even if it means he might die in the process. He is an ex-magic user.

Icespitter

26104361.png
Icespitter, a teacher and librarian in normal life, the company's medic/healer in coliseum life! While his primary role is to heal the other two members of the company, he isn't afraid to use his Ice magic to hurl ice shards at his foes' faces. Make him angry and he just might throw an icicle.

Windchaser

25615624.png

Windchaser is the claws and brute force of the company. He is very physically capable, being able to easily snap bones and twist necks, but that's a tad too brutal. Tone it down, buddy.

Icespitter finds him a tad annoying, because with the presence of a medic around, Windchaser thinks its alright for him to recklessly attack every enemy and thus need to be healed so often.

Descriptions taken from my post on the Coliseum spotlight.

Windchaser's Satchel

Windchaser has a satchel in which he uses to carry a selective amount of items.
