- Torturers tend to be the strongest dragons in the clan. They usually possess either powerful magic or are very physically strong, sometimes both. They also wear specific clothing during their work. Five have been eliminated by Lavaburst assassins.
The Call to the Tortured
- Lucerne has discovered that there is a dragon among the Flaming Empire that will kidnap those who they deem traitors and will drive them insane with an odd, strange sort of magic before enchanting them to carry out a suicide attack on an enemy clan.
- What Lucerne knows about this kidnapper is very little. The few bits of information including that he drives his victims insane nears volcanoes and does so by chanting. He is likely a very strong magical user. He is a male Coatl. Lucerne has dubbed him the "Firestorm Torturer".
- She is too terrified to go too close to the kidnapper during his works at fear of suffering the same fate as the "Tortured", as she calls his victims. However, she does study the Tortured.
- During their torment, the Tortured will scream and buck violently against their restraints as though the chant hurts them. They will also close their eyes and shake their head fiercely. By the end of the chant, however, they will have gone still as if they have died.
- As the torturer chants, his eyes begin to brightly glow. Staring him in the eyes would likely leave you blind.
"Bringer of cleansing fire,
Bare Her flaming eyes,
engulf yourself in the holy blazes.
Turn over your all and cease to be!"
|
- The Tortured, after their torment, have eyes sharing the similar appearance of dead dragons. Additionally, their eyes will be orange if they were not before. It's as if their Flight changed. They are enchanted to be his puppet, and he usually has them carry out a suicide attack on an enemy clan.

Ranking
This is dominantly based on strength. Young dragons perform tests to determine their rank. Hatchlings start at the last tier and work their way up. These tests revolve around every hunt, every fight, general skills, and endurance. The place where you rank on the day you become an adult determines where and how you will live. Based on the IceWings in Wings of Fire.
Tier One - These are the strongest dragons. These are mages of calamity and warriors able to turn the tides in battle. They are expert hunters and do their work without fail. The highest in Tier One is the matriarch/patriarch in their selective areas. (Voltfront or Torrent Trails)

A beautiful city open to all creatures but one type- dragons. Dragons are not allowed in this city, for here, they are viewed as all things wrong with the world. Trespassers never come out in one piece.
Other:
- All and any species except dragons
- Monarchy
- The patriarch is known as Zaffre. That and the fact he is a tengu are the only facts the Lavaburst Clan know about them. He has the appearance of a Wandering Surgepriest, but much bigger with a deeper blue for his feathers. He can use many different attacks, not that he would need to- he has many disposable Talonok at his claws.
- Bluegate has areas specialized for aquatic life such as the Maren.
- Collections of light blue and green feathers are common decoration around Bluegate, as they are meant to display the unity that the city has.
- This group has opted the spymaster to try to convince familiars to act as spies. Usually their companions are quick to tell them they shouldn't, but some familiars seem to want to go through with it. Ayana's familiar, a chillwind harpy known as Frostbite, and
Darunia's familiar, a renegade aviar known as Turncoat act as spies. They go under other aliases while there, those being Verglas for Frostbite
and Apricot for Turncoat.
- Dragons have been in and out before, but this is rare as they have been attacked by assassins or the angry creature. They receive no protection in the city. A dragon has to be extremely careful, else they will die. Options to decrease the chance of dying include: hiring a Beastclan bodyguard, look intimidating, or simply just not going there.
