It's a land of death and decay. Where only dragons who would never rest in their path of ailments could ever survive. But on that faithful night, even as the moon was absent and the stars forgotten. A small shimmer of light, the sound of cracking as soft cries soon followed. Underneath a ribcage of a creature long deceased, was a small Arcane egg just starting to hatch. Unlike the scenes of death that surround the egg, it was slightly floating with a almost humming pinkish light emitting from it. As cracks spread from the egg's smooth surface, dragons closed in around the egg. A variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. But what stood out were their eyes. Most gleaming a deep red. But others had eyes of blue to black. A Guardian, wearing leather wraps around their chest walked forward. Their scales a bright slimy green with their wings a paling grey. Eyes a deep glaring red as they peered down at the cracking egg. With a final cry ringing out from the egg, a deep purple dragon with a body made of galaxies dropped to the ground. The Guardian extended a large finned claw, and scooped up the squriming newborn. Getting a better look at the newborn Pearlcatcher. Its scales were smooth yet gleaming with stars that swirled around its flesh. Wisps of magic, blue Fireflies floated around the hatchling. Like mini Will-O'-Wisps that hummed with their first life. The hatchling's wings flaring out, showing the dark galaxy with bright stars that filled their wings. The Guardian made a twisted smile and looked to a Tundra to their left. Its fur bright with stars, "Their scales gleam with the life outside our own. As your fur shine with the stars above our land. Shall you take them under your wing? Dear Titanous." The Guardian said, The Tundra closed their deep red eyes. Sighing softly, their breath being tinted white. "If I must dear leader, our clan has room for more." They replied, voice deep and rough from years in this wasteland. The Guardian made only a nod as their response and brought the hatching to their chest. Looking towards their den, where the sun was just starting to peek over the horizon. Illuminating the blood covered and pus stained ground. But the gorey image was not greeted with fear by the clan of dragons and their newest charge. They started their walk back to their home. Greeting the day with nothing but gritted determination. The Tundra who's fur gleamed with the universe watched the fleeting night, and softly whispered to the wind. "Star... Star the Eternal Huntress. That is who they shall be."
