Oracle rose from the nest he had made, spilling some of his cat friends onto the floor as he stretched his small body to its fullest extent. Granted this wasn’t much of measurement as he was only a hatchling and thus nowhere near the size of, say, his parents. One of the recently disturbed cats yawned at him as they turned to resettle themselves into the nest. “You shouldn’t have been napping on my legs then Smudge,” the young Coatl yawned while shaking his feathers and wings back into place. His stomach growled at him demanding he finds some sort of food before he did much else. ‘Hmm who to raid today’ he wondered silently. ‘I know someone had to have gone hunting recently’. Slipping from the nesting area he made his way further into the clan’s more trafficked areas sniffing the air to see if he could find out where the nearest, and least guarded food stash might be to him.

Casting a wary eye and listening for the major bullies of the clan that tended to become major annoyances to someone his size. ‘Ugh, Hannibal or Babette would be terrible to run into right now. I’m so hungry I’m not sure I’d have enough energy to outrun them somewhere they couldn’t get to me.’ His belly grumbled again as his nose picked up the scent of fresh seafood nearby and he crept towards the scent carefully. As he came upon the smell he noticed that there wasn’t anyone nearby and he greedily reached a claw towards the food closest to him. Grabbing as much as he could carry, he darted back along the path as quickly as he could back towards his nest and furry cat friends. A bellow sounded behind him as the dragon whose food he had just taken off with noticed the missing items. “Whoops” he gasped as he scampered into the nest which was much too small for anyone larger than a hatchling to get into. “Safe!” he exclaimed before chowing down on the stolen foodstuffs.
