[center]I was a little skeptical when I discovered the gene but finally... I cracked!

I love it! It's true that it's similar to stain but imo it's almost better because of the use of accent colors!
It saved this absolute eyeburner of a g1 that I was planning on selling.

OHHHH I just noticed the new slots. Thank you all so much for those, hope to see more in the future! I'd love to see some Lair slots too

I have to admit I am a bit confused about people saying this invalidates stained. Stained flatly but completely changes the color of an entire dragon. Soap is an awesome alternative, but it uses the accent colors, and it isn't flat, and lets some of the original color of the dragon through, which personally I don't want a lot of the time. These things are both its advantages and weaknesses.
Just as an example, I'm going for a specific look with these dragons which soap does not at all achieve.

Like, for this guy, it's way too saturated and shiny.

And this guy looks completely different, soap brings in way too much purple.
I think it'll be great for eyeburners and vaporwave dragons, though. The look of it layered over metallic and iridescent is awesome.

I know we were gonna get people saying this one way or another when Marbled and Swirl were being compared to Pyth/Mor, when Metallic and Alloy were "the new Iri/Shim" or Obelisks and Gaoler "better Tundra" even though they are all functionally different.
Regardless, Soap and Stained are not the same, just like you said, I'm glad you're pointing that out. Soap has numerous colours and an uneven gradient as well as additional highlights while Stained has none of that and covers the entire dragon flatly. Iri/Shim and Met/All have completely different textures and hues to them, I cannot in my right mind compare those two. For example:

The community has a problem with comparing different things with things we had previously received in some way, but this is not unique to Flight Rising, this is something artists in general ask people not to do because it undermines their efforts and creativity. I am not here to speak for the Staff, but just reminding everyone to try and be constructive. I know a lot of this is also said jokingly which is completely fine, just keep this in mind. Both Soap and Stained are unique genes with similar characteristics and wholly different characteristics. Let's focus on those different ones and enjoy new genes for that uniqueness they bring!
Anyways, can't wait to see what sort of future genes we might see

@hungryhobbits All gem genes are usually considered "rare" genes, so I'd assume it's the same odds as stained/wasp/etc.!
