v0.3: More goodies, more features, fewer bugs, and our first poll!

Poll first! This is for a seed change. Your seeds will not break no matter what the outcome is.
Problem: Turns out Google Sheets replaces +s with =s if they start a cell, breaking itself (and seeds). This can't be toggled (>:[), only manually fixed by adding a ' in front of the +. And due to seed numbering/impressively bad luck, this next batch of seeds will generate mostly starting with +s.
I can make seeds generate with a different character than +, then and tell the code "if you see a +, replace it with <something>", so your seeds won't break! But I don't want to change stuff out from under you, especially if the + thing isn't a hassle for most folks. So the question is whether to replace it and, if so, what to use instead. I've narrowed it to two major candidates:
_ (underscore)
Should be safe. However, might be a bit visually confusing? Test strings: _eY-32_21F, 8Ggm__4gs7, 9h3qGera_L
/ (forward slash)
Standard part of Javascript's own base64, I only used - instead for readability. Looks kind of like URLS. /eY-32/21F, 8Ggm//4gs7, 9h3qGera/L
Of course, I'm open to other ideas! Ex: * is very distinct and readable IMO, but * is commonly used as a wildcard character, and I didn't want to break someone's seed regex or whatever y'all might be working on.

The rest is more fun than that. Let's go!
Garden size is now fully adjustable.
zoop---->
The option for it looks pretty ugly, same as the unstyled checkboxes. I'm holding off on the visual upgrades until the tool itself is fairly stable (since I'm not sure how many UI elements there'll be yet).
I added a bunch of bugfixes, including my favorite to date, which was found by TwoPuffins. It caused a goat to eat everything:
- FIXED: Scrambling a non-smart-spaced garden containing a named seed caused the named seed to "eat" coordinate slots.
- FIXED: Garden gets wiped when you generate a garden, toggle smart spacing, then scramble. I'm not really sure what should happen there, so the garden just regenerates.
- FIXED: I forgot that, to Javascript, y=0 is the HIGHEST and y=64 is the LOWEST. So the code thought your talls were smalls and vice versa. Surprisingly subtle.
- NEW: Purely visual bug and my white whale. For SOME reason, resizing a garden smaller and then regenerating it causes a partial "ghost" garden to appear, often on the right side of the garden, but sometimes on both sides and never the left only, and only while your mouse is hovering over the generator button, and ONLY in main screen mode (not on mobile). I am not exaggerating when I say I spent longer trying to find this thing than every other bug combined x 5, and I STILL DIDN'T FIND IT. Since it's only a visual bug and I wanted to get the rest of these fixes out, it gets to live. For now.
Now, content! Big mushrooms, big dead tree, very big bushes. Also added a crystal and some extra-wide grass.
I know I said there'd be a willow, but I wanted to get this out ASAP for the bugfixes, and the willow is proving...tricky. But it's getting better!
There was a smaller addition of palettes to expand the more pastel/fantastical options. There's now a warm-to-cool lavender, peach-skewing-orange (to differentiate from the wide selection of pink-heavy palettes), a bright and mildly minty green, and a very dark and slightly desaturated brown for bold trunks, plus a chance of getting white leaves to emulate pear blossoms.
About getting them: I'm not putting this in the main post, but because the dragon-id-to-seed generator draws from the entire
current selection of plants/palettes, this update should scramble what it gives. So if you were underwhelmed by the plant you got for some of your dragons (or yourself),
help yourself to the new ones! To do otherwise would be to be punished for helping me test things early, and that'd be terrible (also I'm seeing the new mushrooms on the self-care bingo, but you might need to be quick about it)
LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST: the catalog's tripled in size! There's so many adorable critters and other good stuff!
Go grab them!!!
UPCOMING STUFF
First: the mushrooms near the top. Long story short, now that gardens can be any width, they should be more useful for bios, right? And the same code I used for making the grass work with that can be used to apply palettes to
any long or tall thing for easy color coordination. Like dividers. in bios. I do want to provide
some easy way to actually use the gardens in the form of a bio template, though not til after the main tool's stable...still, I did want to bring it up for an interest check!
Second: also an interest check! Would there be any interest in garden design "competitions"? Like I provide a prompt and/or a handful of seeds (which you can supplement with your own), winner gets the prompt seed or a "custom" seed of their choosing or something else relatively low-stakes? If you're interested, sign up for the brand new "Event" section of
the pinglist!
Third, this is a very long and very dense post and I am very thankful for your patience, so please accept these: [seeds were here]
Finally! There's a few plants I might edit for quality:
: the long, straight "sticks" look kind of unnatural, especially without a flower at the top. I'd like to reduce it to just one stick with a few flowers on it, like a sort of fat-leaved yucca
The asymmetry looks a bit sickly, I think. Not sure if I'd go with the style of the left leaves or the right yet, but some sort of change.
If you prefer either of those as is, let me know!
