"I know, it's ironic that I'm a Ridgeback from the Sea, but the nose certainly keeps the sharks away."


A second generation Water Ridgeback, Isonade is a bit of an oddity. His grandfather had been hired as an underwater cavern carver who fell in love with a local and stayed. Though his family continued the tradition of borrowing and burrowing, they're viewed as a bit weird by other ridgebacks for their watery lifestyle.

One day while out borrowing from Light with his mother, Isonade ran into a sinking guardian, clearly struggling. After casting a water breathing spell on her, he helped guide her to the surface, where they were taken in by Astrid's gathering crew. Curious about life on land rather than under water, Isonade decided to stay. Although he's still trying to get used to his weight on land, he helps Astrid with fishing.

Now that Astrid is gone, Isonade is the only fisher for the clan. Oh, except when Zei comes to help sometimes. Their gathering head likes to get involved in everyone's work once in a while. He's appreciative, especially after that maren attack. There's not a thing in the world that can drive him out of the water, but the anxiety of a repeat assault is less with another dragon around.
