Funayurei originated in Ice lands and was encouraged as a hatchling to explore the world to find her purpose. Her first step on her trek around the world was a daring flight across the world but the young adult was not prepared to make such a long journey. Funayurei ended up crashing in the river running through Sunbeam Ruins exhausted and nearly drowned, her heavy crystalline body dragging her to the bottom.

She was saved by the shimmering apparition of a young ridgeback, who turned out to be not so unreal. He cast the water-breathing spell on her used by Water dragons on visitors and guided her to shore. The two of them were found by Astrid's gathering crew and brought back to Clan Mediasolis "for at least some food and rest". With a new phobia of deep water and flying over it, Funayurei decided not to leave. Though she won't step in the water, she helps her mate with the nets and weaving the baskets to keep their catch in. She also helps clean, now that the clan has moved into the Beacon and has much more expansive public space than they used to. 		Waterskin
