Biography
Irtuve
Irtuve is a calligrapher, a master of illustrious and elegant handwriting. His handwriting is a marvel to look at, but to be honest, it's also quite a pain to read. He has a bad habit of going overboard and getting so fancy about writing that he forgets to actually make it legible.
Which is a problem for the dragons in the Hall of Records, as Irtuve thinks it hilarious to sneak into the Hall of Records, take a scroll, slither back to his den, and rewrite it in calligraphy. There is no point in the records if nobody can read them. Yecord, Luster, and Divantae are all infuriated by him for this. Yecord is tired of him breaking in, Luster is tired of him ruining her carefully organized scrolls, and Divantae is insulted that Irtuve thinks his handwriting isn't good enough. Luckily, Irtuve is a menace, but he isn't cruel, and he always keeps the original copy of the scroll to return to the Hall of Records once they find the rewritten version.
When he isn't being a menace to the Hall of Records, Irtuve is very generous and kind. He pens letters for others, and even takes the time to slow down and make sure these letters are legible for the recipient's sake. He helps Melchiah teach the hatchlings how to read and write. He is a frequent customer of Kunzi's, and tries his best to hold his tongue regarding her behavior towards Suvi.
He is also an expert at deciphering handwriting, as a result of constantly working to decipher his own. His clanmates frequently bring him letters they can't read, and he sits down and painstakingly translates it letter by letter for them. He's a mischievous prankster, but as lighthearted and silly as he prefers to be, he loves his clanmates a lot, and is always happy to help.
