Biography
Melchiah
Melchiah works closely with the nursery in regards to raising hatchlings. Shortly after newborn hatchlings are up and moving, they begin receiving a basic education from Melchiah. It is Melchiah’s job to prepare the next generation of dragons for the future, and he takes great pride in doing so. Almost all the dragons hatched and raised in the clan have fond memories of Melchiah teaching them their shapes, colors, and basic arithmetic, as well as encouraging socialization and helping young hatchlings make friends for life.
Melchiah remembers each and every one of his students, even those who have long since left to serve one of the deities. His desk is stuffed to the brim with seemingly hundreds of keepsakes given to him by the hatchlings he’s taught — drawings which an adult dragon would hardly see as more than a scribble, scrawled and barely legible notes, crumpled worksheets with peeling gold stars in the corners, amateurish crafts falling apart at the seams. Things that would seem like junk to anyone else, but things that mean the world to Melchiah.
Melchiah is a good-hearted and patient teacher, who is never unwilling to stay late to help a hatchling understand a concept. The vast majority of his days are spent constantly surrounded by hatchlings, and it has definitely worn into his social life with adult dragons. There have been many times where one of his friends has been offered a gold star in a sweet, babyish voice, much to their befuddlement. It seems Melchiah has spent so much time with hatchlings that he has forgotten how to turn off the “hatchling” voice and turn on the “fellow dragons” voice.
Melchiah dresses in a rather intimidating fashion, which concerns the parents of some of his students, who see no need for a humble teacher to dress prepared for battle. But Melchiah knows deep in his heart that if anything tried to hurt his students, he would be the first line of defense, and as a result, he is always prepared to protect them. Besides, his students think he looks cool, and Melchiah appreciates this little bit of extra praise from them.
