Biography
Yecord
Don’t be fooled by his glimmery and golden appearance, Yecord is a dragon from the shadows. Yet, you wouldn’t be blamed for mistaking him for a Light dragon, between his appearance and the amount of time he spends in the Hall of Records. Yecord is the clan’s recordskeeper, a job that dictates spending a lot of time deep within the labyrinth of the Hall of Records. When Divantae finishes a scroll and turns it in to Yecord, it is Yecord’s job to sort this scroll to its rightful place and to provide a summarized version of the events written on the scroll.
It’s hard work, and the Hall of Records is easy to get lost in. But Yecord isn’t alone. The timekeeper, Luster, is always there to double-check his work and sort the scrolls into chronological order. Divantae writes so much he’s usually in several times a day to drop off a new scroll. Other dragons, especially those with a particular fascination for history, stop in frequently. And Yecord has his mate, Mimosa, who spends her rare breaks from guarding the lair entrance to come visit him. There’s always something to do or someone to talk to.
When Yecord isn’t sorting historical records or guiding guests, Yecord likes to read through the old records, especially the ones from before he hatched. The older the better. However, if he isn’t exceptionally careful when doing this, and fails to put them back in the correct chronological order, he will face his co-worker, Luster, and her unholy, terrifying wrath. She’s very particular about dates, while Yecord is more particular about events, so while they usually get along for the most part, there is some friction between them when it comes to keeping things sorted.
While Mimosa usually goes out of her way to come visit Yecord, he likes doing the opposite just as much, and going to see her instead. He deeply admires his mate, her strength, and her willingness to protect, just as much as she admires him, his intelligence, and his resolve, as well as his intense desire to know and understand the things that came before him.
