Drone #404 "Alkaid"
The girl knew how to chop and change.

One of the many descendants of Mizar and Alcor who has remained to become one of Clan Goldwood's soldier caste. As a group they've started being called drones, which was not intended as a flattering term but they've all taken a sort of pride in being their parents' yes-men.

For a drone - for a member of Goldwood period - Alkaid is exceptionally strange. Alkaid is not only one of the few ancient breed dragons there, she is the only Aether. On top of that, she's clearly not entirely... biological, anymore. A strange enough thing for a remote clan in the Lightlands, but for a drone on top of that?

Alkaid has stepped up to the plate as the clan's mechanic and electrician, and unlike the last two she gets along quite well with the authoritarian regime. Alcor at least seems to consider her loyal, and well, that's really all you need in Goldwood. Also unlike the last two, Alkaid has some skill in bioengineering... and she is perfectly willing to use her fellow drones as research subjects. Those sent to her lab often don't make it out - at least, not without some... alterations.

Character Notes
Worker Bees, Chop and Change
• Unsurprisingly, Alkaid's morals are best termed strange and flexible both. She has no qualms delving into matters occult or eldritch, or otherwise unethical. Her capacity for empathy and compassion is almost nonexistent on top of this, which enables the mad science quite nicely.
• Most of the time Alkaid will test things on herself first, unless it's something that's likely to cause irreversible harm. There's quite a lot less of that than you'd expect, though, considering the whole "mad scientist" thing.

OOC Notes
• Dragon version of a Jet Force Gemini OC!

• Alkaid was hatched in Goldwood, but didn't grow up there; her father Alioth took her with him when he moved on from the clan, and she stayed with him even into adulthood as they traveled Sornieth. Eventually they parted ways due to Alkaid wanting to pursue more formal education. Said education wound up being quite a bit more occult than Alioth had likely been expecting; Alkaid is the architect of both her own transformation into an Aether and her cybernetic parts.
• Alkaid couldn't care less about the rest of Sornieth, but to her family (and only her family) she is loyal. It isn't blind obedience, she'll question anything that seems flawed - which as far as she's concerned is most things - but in the end she'll always follow Alcor's orders. Or at least the spirit of them, if not the letter.
This loyalty extends to her fellow drones, even if she does experiment on them with alarming frequency. But with the drones, Alkaid is gentle - or at least gentle by drone standards. Unlike the rest of the command structure she encourages them to actually think, and will happily listen to their requests to teach them things. She's also generally considerate of their autonomy, again at least by drone standards. Because of this, the rank-and-file drones tend to be quite protective of her, and even the ones most loyal to Mizar will keep their mouths shut on anything unauthorized that Alkaid may or may not be doing.

- maybe more of an alchemist than anything else...? go full like, bio mad scientist vibes - maybe she's the catalyst for Kaden/Rayna running actually, she ends up as his replacement basically?

- Alioth/Phekda had the kid, Alioth took her back to the Stormlands with him? She got forgotten about in Goldwood, then comes back as an adult, already a cyborg aether. With the bloodline magic or w/e Phekda (and Mizar/Alcor) can tell she's who she says she is despite the complete body change. Then continue from there
