Born to a cold-blooded killer of a mother, and a Shade-touched killer of a father, and sibling to an equally murderous sister, Seskel did not love his childhood at first. He grew up amongst constant squabbles between his parents, often ending in duels. Seskel had never experienced true affection, and so he and his sister Karine did not display normal sibling behavior, instead engaging in challenges that could end in near-fatal injury. Seskel was not surprised when he learned the reason he had no other siblings; they had been sacrificed in a blood pact between his parents, and he only had a sister because she had escaped the reaping. The pact completed before Seskel was born, he did not need to escape his own parents.

At least they loved him, in their own very twisted way. And at least they loved each other in such an odd manner that Seskel had been convinced they were deathly rivals until adolescence. That is, as much as possible for two dragons who could hardly feel love at all. They trained him in many different arts, and taught him to focus his harmfully obsessive nature on his own passions. He enjoys studying and learning the art of a mage, while still being more than a competent fighter. Currently, the young Seskel partners with Karine, both of them hired killers and skilled at their jobs.

Seskel’s relationship with his parents is surprisingly good, unless he mentions his deceased siblings. That is something he has no intention of doing. His obsessive nature appeals to his mother’s bloodthirsty, murderous attitude, and his softer side appeals to his father’s friendlier, softer nature. He will assist both parents in their duties; his mother’s assassin duties and his father’s clan protector duties, given that he resides in the clan between assignments.

While staying in the clan, he frequents the weapons shop of Alpine, buying plenty of his items as he needs them. Although recently, his need to purchase weapons is only an excuse for Seskel to show up at Alpine’s doorstep, goofy and awkward.

Seskel has also cultivated a deep love of books. He has traveled across all of Sornieth to obtain valuable and rare books, and not just those — any entertaining books, rare or not, will almost certainly end up in his possession. He has stated many times that he would do anything for the pursuit of wisdom, including books, and that is true — some of his books were originally obtained with red splatters across them. Of course, he wouldn’t want anyone to have the wrong impression of him — why ever would such a sophisticated dragon commit any form of violence? — and so he diligently cleans new books.

Karine often snickers at his hobby, yet even she is often in awe of the massive library he has collected at home. Seskel has asked her for multiple favors, one in which she accompanied him in some certainly not illicit activities in order to collect treasure — which he all spent on the building of his magnificent library. His affinity for the collection of knowledge has served him well; none would imagine that this traveling Imperial, absorbed in a book or two would amount to more than simply a feeble mage. This is very quickly proven wrong, as Seskel will end up complaining about a small splatter of blood on his book, no mind paid to whatever creature or dragon dared to intrude.

This works in the reverse manner too, of course. Anyone whom Seskel has been paid to target could not ever imagine him as anything other than a ruthless murderer, a coldblooded psychopath, a monster. He could not care less — what do the opinions of soon-to-be-dead dragons mean to him? He would rather concern himself with whichever spell he wishes to learn next, or when he might entertain the clan with some magic shows again.
