Antramedes
The Beast from Below

- Born blind, frail, and without a pearl of his own, Antramedes seemed doomed from the very start, but his parents were unwilling to lose one of their own and fought alongside their son for every breath he took
- Phalanx was the one who suggested that a breed change might be able to save the young hatchling
- It was a huge risk, for there was a strong chance that Antramedes' body, barely able to keep him alive already, would fail entirely
- Against all odds, he survived the change, and, while still unable to see, Antramedes began to breathe easier
- When he came of age, Phalanx took Antramedes beneath her wing to attempt to teach him to fight, and, after years of practise, the male was successfully able to hold his own despite his lack of sight
- He's absolutely huge, towering over Phalanx and her son, Agnar, and can take even Eidolon in a fight
- Fiercely protective of his siblings, especially his older clutch sister, who, despite her will, wasn't a good fighter in the beginning, and a lot of his scars come from defending her in a tight pinch
- Uses echo location to know where he's going, having mastered the art of making low rumbling sounds that allow him to sense objects in front of him and even way off in the distance
- His title comes from his preference of the darkest boughs of Shal'anir where the depths mean even sighted dragons are rendered unable to see, and Antramedes can utilise his echo location to his best ability
- Has a pair of antlers alongside his regular horns due to his imperial lineage

- Familiar: corvid lamp?

Aegis
The Chosen

- Born with a similar vision to Antramedes, Aegis' vision is not so much a curse as it is a sign of the Shadowbinder's favour
- Unlike Antramedes, Aegis can still see, and her primal sight is simply an illusion
- The last of Phalanx's offspring; their shadow lineage will poetically end with Aegis, where it all began
- The reason for Aegis' sight not being a hinderance is due to the nature and timing of the primal sight - Antramedes' sight was given to him by Shal'anir, but, due to Shal'anir's corruption, the blessing was a curse in the tree's final throes
- Aegis, on the other hand, has had her sight given to her by the Shadowbinder to mark the deity making a return after being pushed aside by the tree, and rewarding her faithful followers for returning to her side
- Potential for Antramedes/Aegis to be a thing?
