sunny the brightest star in the sky

If Sunny has a backstory, they don’t know of it.

Their earliest memory is of whispering to the lights surrounding them as they tread through shallow waters, a spot of brightness under the endless night sky. The waters were cool around them, gently sloshing as they moved, walking along a beach.

(It’s a little ironic that they love the waters while being friends with someone who is deathly allergic to it, but Sunny can love the waters enough for both themselves and Bakura.)

The memories that come after are just as sparse. The only constants are the lights around them; supportive, encouraging, caring.

Where those lights come from, they aren’t too sure. Maybe they came from themselves; born from a loneliness that might’ve been. Maybe they came from the night sky itself, and attached to them for whatever reason. Maybe they aren’t really lights at all.

But “Sunny” came from their hope, so they’ll do their best to live up to it.
