perpendicular and parallel are co-partners and heads of a family smuggling business, which runs powerful, elemental magic artifacts and amulets stolen from the eleven deities themselves all across sorneith. some offspring help transport items while others exalt themselves to infiltrate a deity's ranks and get better access to more objects to steal

some objects are more powerful than others. their vendibles range from the deities' trash to their most prized possessions. the most expensive are bits of scale, fur, or feathers from the deities' own bodies (also the most dangerous to get)

raise their hatchlings in mango pirate canyon because it offers protection from outside detection. parallel trains them in the canyon, and when perp returns from operations they perform a variety of tasks and challenges to show how far they've come. she'll take the ones she deems ready with her to prentice specially under her wing before graduating and joining the family business in full. descendants that mate and introduce their own children to the business are also met and tutored by perp, if only for a short mission

they're both awfully cheery, clearly confident in themselves, their career and family, their skills and abilities, and in their own relationship. living the high life. thriving, flourishing. never sated, always hungry for more, and knowing they'll get it

while parallel deals with the customers/business partners, perp oversees the actual smuggling of artifacts. often traveling between pick-up, hiding, and delivery sites all across sornieth under the cover of night, fighting off attackers to protect her cargo, and often carrying the largest and most dangerous artifacts herself

she trained hard with a spiral battlemaster to overcome imperials' disadvantage in flight and has become quite the adept aerial fighter. the technique she learned is mostly one of evasion, twisting snake-like all around her opponent to dodge any blow, dodging and weaving like a ribbon in the wind. her wavespun wings boosts her strength and speed, allowing her to eat up the miles as she flies relentlessly on through the night to escape attackers or deliver an item on time

she never forgets a face or voice, and when it comes to her grandchildren, a hatchday
