Biography
"Excuse me..." Unearthly wisps of spectral smoke slither through the air, thick and seemingly tangible, to the point that you wonder if it's even smoke at all. "Did you drop this?" A bemused Snapper emerges from the shadows, eyes fixated on you as the thick pink plasma extends itself in the shape of a hand, offering a familiar scroll.

A R C A N E__A M B A S S A D O R
Originally hailing from the Starfell Isles, Ruse is an avid student of the arcane arts. All his life the ghosts of relics and arcane constructs have spoken to him in ways that words cannot properly convey. Through this his studies have guided him down a darker and more unorthodox path than most, which he embraces to it's fullest.
It's difficult to put a claw on what exactly landed him in a clan dedicated to servicing the Tidelord of all dieties. Trying to do the impossible may have had something to do with it, along with dabbling in things that are better left alone. If you ask him, he'd say it's entirely Glimmer's fault, though he certainly isn't complaining. He's become something of an arcane ambassador to the clan after all, and has found that a home in the Sea of a Thousand Currents is rather advantageous. From here, the shores of six other nations touch the sea, creating endless opportunity to study the interactions of magic and influences of deities. |

P E R S O N A L I T Y
Notably friendly, albeit in a reserved manner, Ruse gets on well enough with most of his clanmates, though most agree something feels off about him. He always looks like he's trying to read people as if they were books, bemused and ever so interested in the things his fellow dragons are hiding in the pages of their lives. One might even get the impression that he's up to no good; it would not be an entirely false assumption to make.
F A M I L I A R
An Otherworldly Aura is bound to Ruse, which he can manipulate at will. It often manifests in the form of thick, viscous plasma lingering around his body. He most frequently uses it to create a pair of spectral hands to assist him with various tasks, but it's applications are nearly limitless. In exchange the creature feeds off what little sleep he manages to get, and will take control if he gets too exhausted. |

M A T E__&__O F F S P R I N G
Ruse is in a poorly concealed relationship with Osprey, much to the disapproval of her peers. He was initially only interested in her for his own gains, though what started as nothing more than selfish curiosity quickly bloomed into genuine care and protectiveness. For her sake, he refrains from openly flaunting his affections within sight of certain clanmates, despite his spiteful desire to do the exact opposite. Any eggs they rear are cared for in secret, with their offspring smuggled from the clan and left in the care of trusted allies. Ruse's travels allow him to stay in close contact with his children, or at least those who wish to do so. |

G L I M M E R | Closest Friend Oh, the trouble these two have wreaked upon Sornieth. From unearthing forbidden knowledge to being banned from several arcane guilds for dabbing in the darker aspects of magic, Ruse can always count on Glimmer to be just as devious and unruly as himself. Their friendship has spanned many years, and shows no sign of stopping. |

O S P R E Y | Mate Their romance may be a forbidden one, but this certainly doesn't keep Ruse from expressing his affections at every private opportunity. He struggles with a strong desire to see Osprey push past the things holding her back, however he recognizes such choices are not his to make. In the meantime he serves as her rock, while she unknowingly teaches him how to care for someone other than himself. |

I G G Y | Enemy If it were a competition for who dislikes who the most, Iggy would win by a mile. Truth be told she's hardly more than an annoyance to Ruse, but her unrelenting distain for him is made clear with every interaction between them, and occasionally gets in the way of what otherwise would have been a nice day. He tries to refrain from pushing her buttons lest Osprey be the victim of collateral damage, but sometimes he just can't help himself. |

T E R R I C | Dislike While Terric has technically never done or said anything to Ruse that would justify any ill will, his association and shared mentalities with Iggy make him Ruse's second least favorite dragon in the clan. |
