Gulbrandr started life in a very large nature clan, he was an orphan, the other members of that clan thought that his parents probably abandoned their nest and ran away from the clan, but no one could remember who used that nest last and the clan was so large no one could keep track of all the dragons coming and going. thus he never knew his parents.
Growing up he never felt like he had anyone close to him, he was passed around from one carer to the next and never bonded with any of them.
When he reached adulthood he took off. Leaving the clan behind he never looked back and he imagined that no one even noticed his absence. He flew for miles and miles only stopping to eat and sleep.
Until one day he found himself flying over the Shifting Expanse. Gulbrandr had very little knowledge about geography and soon found himself lost in the vast desert. He was very unprepared for this kind of landscape and the lack of food and water rendered him unable to fly. As he stumbled around lost and exhausted he was thinking about how no one would even realize or care what had happened to him and a overpowering loneliness overcame him as he collapse and lost consciousness.
As his consciousness returned, what at first sounded like mumbles turned into voices having a conversation.
"No he has no illnesses as far as I can tell, he's just staved and dehydrated." "Will he make a full recovery?" "Yes I imagine so." "I wonder why he was out in the desert with no supplies?"
Gulbrandr opened his eyes to see a brightly lit clean room, he was on a comfortable bed with an IV line attached to him. He saw the source of the voices, a Mirror wearing a lab coat and glasses, a very electrified looking Fae, and a fiery looking Snapper. When the Snapper saw gulbrandr had opened his eyes he became very excited and start shouting about how he had found gulbrandr in the desert while coming back from the coliseum. The Snapper was soon ejected from the room so that a more calm conversation could take place.
Gulbrandr was allowed to stay in the lair while he made his recovery. At first he had fully intended to leave as soon as possible and continue his lonely aimless travel, but as his recovery went on he found himself bonding with Dr. Valentine and soon he had become friends with Vitus another nature dragon who was an orphan and that friendship let to him becoming friends with Ninella. By the time Gulbrandr had recovered he felt like he had found a home with this clan and he asked Hezakia if he could join. She agreed to let him stay.
Gulbrandr now enjoys spending his days flying over the ocean catching fish and helping vitus and Ninella with their garden.
