It was possible Oxi's grandparents anticipated his hatching more than his parents. He was Asche's first child, just a single egg in the clutch, and it was no surprise he was coddled and spoilt in his first months of life. As a result, Oxi is a shy and nervous dragon, never straying far from his home, and never without his family. Sweep helped him there, a gentle yet confident dragon who had been rescued and adopted by his grandmother. He was in awe of her when he learnt she had been in the clutches of beast clans as an egg, but she insisited the only remarkable thing in that story was Conch. Oxi enjoyed her company, and felt stronger (and safer) when she was by his side, but when she asked to be his mate, he floundered. He had never imagined anyone wanting him as a mate, especially not someone as stong and pretty as Sweep. His lack of response upset her, and it took him days to work up the courage to apologise, and ask if she would still want him. He has since learnt his lesson, and his lack of self confidence isn't quite so crippling anymore. He will certainly believe what Sweep tells him, and hold her opinions and emotions in high regard.
