╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ W I R K L I C H K E I T The Telegraphist ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ "... .... . / -.-. .- -. / ... . . / -.-- --- ..- --..-- / ... .... . / .-- .- ... / -.-- --- ..-" The Mourning Flowers of Sornieth prowl the lands in search of souls that have yet to cross through the Veil. Leaving behind fields of flowers that defy all logic, they take it upon themselves to mourn for those that have been forgotten or left behind, and their purpose is a heavy one they bear with pride and determination. They serve the dead before all others and see the world for what it is- an endless graveyard... The Specters are the ones most closely connected to the Veil and the Beyond, seeing the souls clearer than other Flowers. They are excellent at tracking down lost ones and tend to favour forgotten or saddened souls. They are somber, absentminded, and careful. wizened - familial - adventurous - shield of many - true loyalty Love of mine, someday you will die But I'll be close behind I'll follow you into the dark No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white Just our hands clasped so tight Waiting for the hint of a spark If Heaven and Hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark * * * |
______ SILENCED FOR LOVE For loving a thing like Lavender, in a place like Corrosionius, the Veil had taken his throat. While most Mourning Flowers choose silence, the choice was taken from him in the most traumatic of ways. The only sound that he can make is a repetitive clicking noise as he taps his claws in a vain attempt to communicate - a punishment to further remind him that he is not of Lavender's world, the living world. The Veil still permits him to attempt his duties - for he is still its child, and the Veil does not hold ill will towards him. His fragile mind makes him more of a nuisance to the rest of his tribe, further alienating him from those who should be his family. Even so, he toils diligently, trying his best to guide the most lost of the souls, the ones he encounters when lost - stuck - in the recesses of his own mind, the sound of ripping flesh filling his head.
For it was the fate of all things mortal to end eventually.
Losing his voice, being trapped in exile between two worlds, was nothing to losing Lavender. She had been the only thing binding him to his sanity on this mortal plane. Upon her death, her body descended into the flames and her soul... well, he didn't know where her soul went. She was not a Flower. Wirklichkeit wanders absently now, dreaming of the day he and his beloved will meet again, but not expecting it. The souls of Flowers are reincarnated, brought back again to serve, but normal souls? The end was the end, wasn't it? Wirklichkeit wept in a way the rule-abiding Flowers didn't - couldn't - understand. Together he and Lavender had brought forth an abundance of children, many removed from this mortal coil too soon; some, souls drifting in the abyss of the Beyond, but others, dead and gone like their mortal mother. The few who remain dutifully carry out their tasks, trying to fulfill their roles despite being exiled with their father, mourning their mortal mother. Often Wirklichkeit ponders whether the nothingness of death would be a blessing over this eternal anguish, returning again and again to find the world devoid of her. Now, Wirklichkeit is trying to make amends, to heal his fractured mind, to forget about her. It won't work. Uh-oh, looks like this mute flower wandered a little too far from his home lair and is now off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to his home lair or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful! Owners I've Had: Strangeflesh | Bisharpamor | AlumTheDragon | Ackie |
