Lighting up the darkness around him, Twilight brings with him hope into the Darkened Caves. As he is not a true Flower, merely the mate to one of their kin, he is understandably restricted and kept out of the true secrets, but he does not let it deter him. No, these Flowers are still his family, and he will do what he can to bring kindness and love into their otherwise dreary existence.

For is it not so, that the Flowers are left to deal with the pain and sorrow of Sornieth? Perhaps it is simply that Twilight does not understand, not really, but he cannot imagine that it is easy to clean up the remains of every massacre and war of the mortals. And if coming home to light, and warmth, and companionship can ease that burden, then Twilight will be the one to ensure it is so.

But deep down, he knew he did it all for Aleca more than anyone else. She carried burdens the other Flowers did not, her heart weighed down by things beyond even their comprehension, and Twilight was her only comfort. When Aleca protected the world, Twilight was the one to protect her-- he would be her shield when she needed one. Always.

» Twilight is one of the few merchants selling wares directly from the Mourning Flowers, stocking potions and spells and fine items infused with their magic.

»The only honest and legal way to purchase items from the Graveyard and Corpsewater. His stocks are refilled directly at the Caves, brought through the Veil or harvested from the Caves.

A Valuable Piece

» Serves as one of the very few direct links between mortal dragons and the Darkened Caves in particular, which automatically makes him a connection point to the Flowers themselves.

» Though he does not speak of what he sees, sworn to secrecy, he helps coordinate communications and alliances for the Founders themselves.

______THE OUTSIDER AMONG THEM

Not all Flowers were created to shine, and no outsiders were ever considered their equals, but Twilight was undoubtedly the closest an outsider had ever come to being considered one of them. For where they were, usually, not created to shine, Twilight was.

Their darkness was not one he feared and it was how he met Aleca, so long ago. She'd been cloaked in the shadows, safeguarding a Flower doing their sworn duty, and Twilight had been passing by purely by coincidence. Despite the two Flowers almost disappearing entirely in the deep shadows of the tall pines, Twilight saw them, and he was drawn towards them. And when Aleca raised her head, eyes alight with a fierceness few could possess, Twilight had known.

What he'd known was still uncertain, even to him, but the tug in his chest had been undeniable. And he knew that was not something to ignore.
