_________‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ PALLET ; THE ROOTS OF HEARTACHE
_________
You have a purpose, the Veil had whispered to her. And the Veil never spoke to her again. But Pallet knew it was to be expected, that she was different, and her blood was cursed. Not a true spawn of anything, not a true Flower, and not even a true dragon—was she anything at all?

It was strange enough that she'd heard the Veil when she stepped into the Waking Plane in her wrongwrongwrong form, pretty but powerless, and she almost drove herself to madness twisting the questions and frustrations over in her mind during her first days. And it was only through chance she realized that life didn't have to be as grim and gruelling as her mind tried to convince her. The whispers of her kin, no matter that she was not like them, was a constant in the depths of her mind. A nagging reminder that she was not quite them, yet too much like them to be a mortal, and what did that truly make her?

Was she not the natural connection between them and the rest of this mortal world? This fact burned itself into her mind as she watched the divide between them, the distance between Flowers and mortals, and Pallet felt a lifetime lighter. Yes— she would have purpose.

A BROKEN HEART

» After the loss of her mate, Pallet decided to travel the world as she tried to find equilibrium again. It was difficult, an endless war with her own heart, but one she won. During her travels, she has seen much, and exploring the wealth of the Waking Plane has helped her still the ache of loss.

» Rather than take on a new mate, Pallet decided to dedicate herself to the cause of the Flowers, and now travels around to check up on wayward Flowers. She helps communicate with mortals, helps educate both Flowers and mortals alike on their ways, and thrives. Pallet has helped write out several informative booklets that Flowers can bring along to help them communicate with mortals.

______THE WANDERING BRIDGE

Though not gifted with the powers true Flowers possess, Pallet was lucky enough to gain something else— a purpose. For it was obvious, when one thought about it, what the Veil had whispered to her.

And, most of all, it was obvious because it was the Veil that whispered, not the Graveyard. The Veil, which connected all the planes to one another, had been the one to bless her. Because Pallet was meant to connect, to build bridges between Flowers and mortals, and she was there to teach.

Once it settled into the marrow of her bones, Pallet set off with only her heart as a guide.

There were dozens upon dozens of Flowers out there, wandering the Waking Plane, and not all of them would be fortunate enough to find connections with ease. A whole slew of them might face trouble, some might face dangers; some might face death. Perhaps not the most frightening thing for a Flower, but undesirable all the same, and Pallet could help.
