Delight

Uh-oh, looks like this plucky sailor voyaged a little too far from her home lair (gayrurumon, #552257), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Though born and raised in a circus, Delight was never drawn to life as a performer. As a hatchling, she much preferred to spend her time exploring and playing in the river next to her clan. In particular, she developed a fascination with boats, and loved spending hours watching the vessels coming and going from the docks. One day a local fisherman noticed her keen interest, and told her mother that he would be happy to take the youngster under his wing as an apprentice and unofficial member of his crew. Knowing how thrilled this opportunity would make her daughter, Thunderstrike happily agreed. So it was that Delight spent much of her youth on the river that she loved, learning the ropes of working on a humble fishing vessel. Given this childhood, it came as no surprise to he friends and family when the now adult Delight announced her intentions to leave her birth clan, and become a sailor.

Delight would set sail in the old fishing boat she had spent her formative years on, bought from her fisherman friend at a very low price (he had offered it as a gift, but she insisted on paying to help him afford a new boat). That evening, as she slowly sailed further and further away down the river, Delight looked up at the sky. It was sunset, and the sky was stained a brilliant red, a handful of stars just beginning to peek out. It felt like a good sign. A shiver of excitement passed down Delight's spine, and she wondered what lay ahead for her on her journey...

Delight sailed her boat along a river to Corrosionius, where she meant a fellow saler by the name of Caspian. They became fast friends, and they enjoyed their time together. She try to go fishing with him, but the boat was attacked by a sea monster, and she fled.

Unfortunately, Delight's boat had been damaged by the sea monster. But it was a minor wound, only noticed an unknown amount of time through her voyage across the Sea of a Thousand Currents. This soundly put a damper on what was one of Delight's biggest dreams- so sail across the largest body of water in Sornieth. But luckily she managed to wash ashore on a small island named Terreneuvia. A friendly green guardian greeted her on the beach, and once she was assured Delight wasn't seriously harmed, hurried her to the local inn.

There, Delight met Wenlock Inn's owner and manager Amelia, who had come to Terreneuvia on much less dire circumstances but shared Delight's love of the sea nonetheless. They vowed to help Delight repair her boat once she had recovered. Before Delight could ask any questions, she was whisked off to a cozy little room and served a delicious lobster chowder prepared by the inn's chef.

Once Delight had gotten over her undetected cold, she took Amelia up on their offer. They also invited Riptide, a local fisher, who would also be able to help repair Delight's pride and joy. The three worked tirelessly all day, until finally, the boat was fixed. And to top it all off, Riptide decided to give Delight one of her extra nets to fish with.

Delight then found herself in the Hewn City Commune, where she was introduced to Love Live! Her favorite member became You Watanabe, a similarly plucky girl who dreamed of naval work.
