Shuck doesn't need to open his eyes to know who is nosing at him furiously so early in the morning. The little presence darts in an out of his face, pressing an excited snout to his cheek in hopes of getting him to rouse from his slumber. After a few moment of nothing, the older Flower huffs and raises a large arm in an attempt to ensnare the youngest into an inescapable embrace, and perhaps buy himself a few more minutes of precious sleep. For a moment, Shuck thinks he may have been successful when he feels the littlest blossom wriggle against him.
She is much too fast for him though, and very quickly she slips out of his grasp, instead rearing up and pressing her (laughably light) full weight on the now unoccupied arm, pressing down with all of her might. She means business. Shuck cracks one bleary eye open to look at his little sister, who is staring at him expectantly. Sunrise was her favorite time of the day, and bless her little heart, she wanted him to join her in watching the phenomena as often as possible.
He knew he could simply roll over and ignore her if he truly wanted to, but the very thought of her little expression faltering even just a fraction felt taboo. Ever since he found a lone little flower blooming in one of his stone spirals, things had shifted drastically for him in ways he hadn't anticipated. Little Kellas seemed to pop from the Earth just for him, eyes and flowers as bright as the moon that shone above them that night.
This...was unheard of, as far as he was concerned. Why he had been put in charge of her, where she came from specifically, and the intelligence she seemed to show even in her young age- it was all quite confusing and admittedly, worrisome, to Shuck. He chose every day to push those thoughts aside though, in favor of simply enjoying the gift that was his little sister (he presumed)
So, despite protests from his body, the elder flower slowly rose from his slumber and attempted to shake off the last remnant's of the Sandman's visit to follow the the little moon blossom out of the cave as she spun in circles and darted out. The sky was already beginning to turn a dusty purple.
