A B O U T
Morel is a denizen of the Rotwood Strand, a dense forest near enough to the Wandering Contagion to be saturated with Plague magic. She often comes into contact with the nearby clan dragons who frequent the Rotwoods, though much more occasionally with their clanmates.

She’s most commonly seen darting through the trees with purpose, foraging various fungi and plants to use as ingredients in her alchemical reductions. Because she rarely leaves the Rotwoods, she carries with her the local scents of petrichor and damp earth, but also of dead and dying things. Dragons who haven’t met the hedgewitch are inclined to give her a wide berth. Unfortunate for them, as Morel is quite a friendly soul.

Dapperling is a frequent visitor of hers, dropping by to purchase ingredients or to discuss their shared fascination with mushrooms.

H I S T O R Y
Morel is an Earth dragon with a lifelong fascination about Plague magic. She has made enough pacts with the Plaguebringer that, although she can’t quite channel their element, she has developed a talent for finding hotspots of Plague magic and harnessing it in other ways. She has become a talented brewer who uses a mixture of ingredients and incantations to produce potent alchemical concoctions.

The fae has always found it difficult and confusing to read the numerous spellbooks available on the intracontinental market. Morel has instead become an innovator in her field, always trying new things and keeping all of her experiments and recipes in a bound folio with detailed ink sketches of all of the ingredients. While the polychromatic text and frequent misspellings can be all but incomprehensible to other dragons, they seem to be the perfect format for the young witch.

Morel is one of the only dragons in the Dragonhome who can perform a breed change without a scroll, instead channeling Plague magic into strong potions. These brews contain the greatest level of specificity, as altering the very fabric of a dragon’s form is no easy feat.
