In a scrambling of shrieks and giggles, the children have arrived. Twinkle has finally grown bored of chasing kites, and now they and their two friends tumble up claim their scoops.

Twinkle quickly takes to splashing strikes across the surface, while SpringRain holds his scoop in chubby orange claws and watches. Divam is clinging to the edge and staring down into the pool, green nose almost touching the water.

Soon he is laying almost flat, neck stretched out, scoop forgotten beside him. And then he is gone! The other two look around in confusion, and then Twinkle screams in laughter. The nocturne is in the depths, chasing fish in laps around the sides and looking like a scoopable prize himself.

Eventually a nearby adult does just that, scooping him up and depositing him in the shallows by his friends.

"What did you catch??" they demand, but Divam clutches whatever prizes he's found to his chest and rolls over on his back like an otter to paddle away to where the bowls are kept. What could it be?

Little green claws have crept up and pulled the letter from its resting place by the entry. Whoever was meant to write back, they've left it too long.

Quote:

Hello I am Divam, I am 1 years old!

My friend Twinkle plays a lot of pranks, they are always making trouble and Grandmere says I shouldn't listen to their ideas but we have a lot of fun! Even though we get in trouble a lot, I think its ok. Twinkle says fun is what's most important and they are 4 years old! That's a lot more old than me, and they are still very good at fun, so I think they must be right.

My favourite prank that Twinkle taught me is Invisible! When you are Invisible, you can do all kinds of things, and no dragon can see you. Maybe you can knock on a door and leave a smelly fish outside! Or sometimes we call out for someone but when they look, no dragon is there! Only little dragons can be Invisible, but I bet fairies would be very good at it too.

Maybe one day we can all play together! Ok I got to go now, bye bye!

Quote:

Hi Asoria I am Divam! I like presents a lot!

Sometimes when I'm very good, Uncle Stheno will make me a new dolly out of wicker. He's very good at making them, he twists those sticks up like magic!

Auntie Palm always gives everyone lots of funny smelling little packets when she comes back from her travels, and dragons seem to like them a lot, but I'm not sure why? Twinkle says its medicine, but I don't know.

Another present that everyone likes is treats! One time we all got candy floss with our favourite flavours. Mine was full of sugarbees! It was really sweet. I think candy and toys are the best presents, but Grandmere says any present you make yourself is a Gift From The Heart.

Ok I hope your friend likes your present! Byebye!

Quote:

Hi Eltoren my name is Divam. I hope I am not too scary! Sometimes I like to hide too.

Sometimes grown-up dragons do get glowing claws! Grown-up dragons stop living in the creche, and they don't play as many games. Also they start wearing clothes. A lot of the time they put on clothes right away. Some of them put on so many clothes they don't even look the same. I guess putting on clothes is what dragons do when we grow up. I don't wear clothes. Do you wear clothes?

Quote:

Hello Sorili!

My name is Divam and I am 1 years old! This is my first time writing letters. I have written 4 letters now! All of my pen-pals are Nymphs like you.

I don't know about other lairs but OH BOY there are lots of people who are not dragons in my lair. When we play with Delphi his flower friend is always watching us, and we have to be careful not to fall on all the little frogs and critters that live with him. He even has a doggy! They don't talk much though I guess.

But there are also lots of other people. Twinkle got in trouble with some dryads for picking too many leaves to make a pile to jump in. They said you have to wait till fall when the leaves fall off themselves. Oh and there's even some Nymphs here! Blossom the Flower Nymph is always helping Po to take care of the plants she collects. There are a lot of plants.

I think maybe there are more people here who are not dragons than who are dragons. I guess there are a lot of kinds of people! Maybe they are not all friendly, but most of the ones I know are! Even if we can't talk to them all.

I hope you will be my friend! Bye bye!

This letter has been written with extra care, the lettering much more even than the usual excited scrawl. A little green face has been drawn smiling at the top.

Quote:
Rj1yhUO.png

Greetings Raisie!

Thank you for sending us all these letters! I bet you must be very important for all the other fairies to let you carry their letters around.

Mage Azucar told me MAIL is very important to all people everywhere, and that Knowledge and Communication is the Basis Of Civilization. I think she likes to talk to as many people as she can. She's always getting letters from all over!

Now I have letters from lots of people too. I am very glad that you could bring them to me! I hope that we will write lots more letters.

From your Pen-pal Divam!

*To my friend Eltoren! *

Hi! How are you? I am very happy!* I am very glad we are all friend-shaped now.

Now that we are friends, you don't have to be scared! We can write letters anytime, and that will be fun without scary parties or big crowds. **

*Do you like my ink? I put some of the glitter* that came in our letter on top. It is very shiny!* Po scooped a bunch of it up and put it in a little jar. Now it is part of the collection. *

I hope you will write again when you feel like it!

There's a scrabbling noise, and a little green claw appears over the edge of the desk. Soon it is joined by a second, some more scrambling, and a little green snout and 2 green eyes poke up too.
66381544p.png

"Hello I am here for a bounty please!" he announces, and without waiting reaches determinedly over and slaps a little paw onto the scanner. Behind him are 3 green obelisk kittens, watching wide-eyed. At a further distance, an armored spiral observes discreetly, and gives a nod.

By signing this contract you agree to pursue the target to your best abilities.
In the event that you are approached by a third party, you will NOT hand over the bounty, or any information regarding the bounty, over to said third party.
Failure to comply will result in contract termination.

Divam hops down clutching his prize and proudly displays it for his little followers. Then the whole pack run back to the spiral, where the contract is again proudly presented. She takes it and nods with exaggerated seriousness, and then ushers them out.

66381544p.png Bounty Huntering Log Day 1:
- - - - -
Dear Log, today I got my first contract. We are going to hunt for a Dire Claw! There is a picture and it looks big and green and blue and pointy. Bryna says they are Fierce Beasts and must Be Respected. Amanita says they are good sport. She smiled a lot when she said that. Amanita has a lot of teeth, I hope I can have that many teeth one day. I'm a bounty hunter now too, just like her! Also I am green all over, even if I am not so spiky.
- - - - -
Dire Claws live in great big caves and eat mushrooms and centaurs. They are very loud! We went to a spot that Brynna knows to see if one was there. She said that me and the kittens must not fight because we are Scouts and have to Watch. She says that Scouting is very Important and the first step to learn to be a Mighty Hunter. Now we are going to watch for a bear.
- - - - -
OH BOY Bears are VERY LOUD!! We saw lots of mushrooms and bats and other things and then we saw a bear! Amanita and Brynna fought the bear while we watched out for other monsters and to make sure if the bear ran away we could say which way. It is very Important not to leave a wounded prey. They caught the bear and now we have to go turn it in. There's a Reward! Maybe one day we can have a bear of our own, but maybe not one that is so loud.

44985838p.png Thank you for humoring our younglings.

We heard there seemed to be an overpopulation of Dire Bear, and having had some recent sightings, thought it a good opportunity to satisfy their curiousity and instruct them without too great a risk.

Please find attached a requisition for reforestation materials to fulfill the compensation portion of the contract. Their next lesson shall be ecology, with the Arborealists.

Divam is here for Cake Walk!

He's pressed himself up against the windows to see the Spectres going past and nearly forgot to sign up!

66381544p.png Peeling his eyes away from the viewport momentarily, he also squeaks excitedly, "TRICKER TREAT!!" before remembering some instructions and adding, "Oh! can I take a Gift Bag home for the babies?"

AND THEY'RE OFF~!
Out the airlock they go! Look at those Specters fly!
My golly, it's going to be a close one!

This marks the end of the first Cake Walk!

@Doozie

And clocking in at Sixth we see... Number 19!
This green bean seems to have brought along a gaggle of friends! Look at them play tag! Two games in one folks! You go scamp.

After the thrill of take off Divam takes a moment to have a good rummage through the Trick or Treat goodie bag. He's so thorough he practically climbs into the bag himself.

Finally he triumphantly holds aloft a Blazing Goblin. "Its on FIRE!!" he shouts gleefully!

Shortly before saying his goodbyes to the various station staff that have watched over him during his halloween stay, Divam turns in a written report. It is unclear if this is something he was assigned, or if he's invented his own project.

Junior Stationmaster Log:

I had a good time at the Star Station! I learned all about how space stations work, like how they make water, and where the food comes from, and where all the toilets go. I got to see the Docking Bays, and I even got to sit in the Stationmaster's Seat!

There are a lot of ships that come to the station and it is very busy every day. The best day was HALLOWEEN! We had candy and cake and a SPACE RACE! I got my very own Racer and we got to watch them go all around the station!

Thank you to everyone at Star Station for taking care of me!

Signed: Divam, Junior Stationmaster 2022.

As he hands in his "report", he very proudly shows off his Junior Stationmaster Badge, a shiny bit of prismatic paper folded up into a star. Origami?

@Doozie
Cooing, Solaire collects the report and pins it to the front of the desk for everyone to see. "Hunter of the month" he explains while Ria tends to his coffee in the corner. This is a growing smile on the skydancers face as he watches the interaction.

The little messenger droid is covered in mimic powder as she flits in to present her latest bounty request. She's been fitted with a tiny cargo capsule, which opens and pours more mimic powder out as she removes a tightly rolled scroll.

66381544p.png

**Happy Nights of the Nocturnes!!!!**

Many happy returns of the egg, and good chests to you all!

It would seem Divam has been into the crafting supplies and made his own greeting cards for the holiday season. This delivery made, the droid shakes herself off and shoots a small puff of compressed air at the scanner before applying her sensor patch.

Both attendants coo over the card up until Ria realizes he'll now have to clean the powder suddenly covering the Bounty Board.

How in the world had it gotten everywhere in such a short--~

Ignoring the looming disaster Solaire hums away happily as he prints out their contract. It's another spooky one this time around and he can't help but switch off to "This is Halloween" midway through the song.

There's a little green nocturne waiting patiently in the visiting line, holding his claws up close to his chest. As the dragon ahead finishes up, he smiles up at them and then shuffles in for his turn. He puts his face right up close to the box and says, "HI! My name is Divam, I am 2 years old now! I heard that you like shiny things, so I brought you some Glitter! I love glitter, I hope you like it too!"
Mimic Powder

With this he pulls his face back and carefully shoves a fist through each hole, releasing handfuls of mimic powder that promptly goes everywhere, inside and outside the box. "Would you like to do crafts together sometime? I bet you would like arts and crafts. Ok I gotta go, everyone else is still waiting to say HI!"

He carefully puts his little arms around the box and gives it a gently squeeze, squashing his cheek up against it in a friendly hug. Then he waves happily and hops off to let the next visitor approach.

Who let all these children onto the ice? Do we even have a Juniors league at the Winter Games?

It seems they've got a ringleader, a hyperactive skydancer skittering about laughing. But what's this little green nocturne doing? Seems there's a team leader as well, doing his best imitation of a professional coach. He's in what appears to be very serious conversation with a tiny coatl, who we must admit does look very at home on the ice. She's nodding in that serious way small hatchlings have, and the two of them seem to be organizing the others.

Well folks, the young snapper is now imitating a stone, and the little black bogsneak lass is attempting to hurl him down the ice. The skydancer is inciting the others to push a real stone with them riding atop. The nocturne is demonstrating broom technique to the drooling treebaby, who while one might think a being of stick-and-twig would take to the broom naturally, is just gumming it.

At least spirits are high! Lets hope they can get it together in time for the match, if they aren't already disqualified out of hand.

Daily Activity: Sunday

66381544.png

Divam stands staring up at the wall, awestruck by the scale and sheer variety of materials at hand. He loves a good arts and crafts project, but this is the first one he's seen with so many creators. After watching the harpies and dragons at work for a while, he makes his move.

Nose in one pot and then the next, poking at the jars of brushes with his chubby claws, he investigates the supplies available. A bright red paint is considered and discarded, several enormous broom type brushes are waved about experimentally, and some mysterious cans are given a good shake. At last he makes his choice, and flaps up to join the crowd.

Holding an oversized shaker over his head, he dowses himself in glitter, and then flies SPLAT right into a fresh patch of wet paint. He gives a good wiggle to really work it in there and make a full impression, and then peels himself off. Darting backwards to take a look, he claps his claws together. He is thrilled.

"I made a glitter dragon! Look! Its me!" And sure enough, in a field of green waving grass, a little dragon is dancing in sparkly silhouette!

Doozie wrote on 2024-03-26 23:00:11:

A little green guy has been watching the display with open mouthed awe, clapping his sticky mitts in applause. Wind magic is so exciting! He's had a great time at the crafting tables, his bag is stuffed with folded paper critters and partially dried paintings of funny round birds. His paws are still coated in the drippings of his last delicious treat and he's on his way to the next. What a great time!
