A brilliant young archaeologist and Light historian, Negasi arrived at Home as a young adult and has been causing problems on purpose ever since. A restless dragon who finds it impossible to sit still or leave tempting stones unturned, he has always struggled with accepting that rules must apply to him, too, and hates the idea of having to allow puzzles to remain unsolved. Though he is a friendly and likable young dragon, his reckless and spontaneous nature, and his love of investigating nearby archaeological mysteries despite personal risk, means he often worries that his luck may some day run out.

- Biography
Born to a Dark Sclera Clan (as professor Nelson describes in his journal) in the Shrieking Wilds, Negasi was somehow separated from his birth Clan as a hatchling. Few orphanages are willing to take in Dark Sclera orphans, and he eventually wound up at Home after bouncing from Flight to Flight for a while. Fortunately, he remembers little of these early memories - or, at least, he won't talk about them much if he does. He often becomes awkward or uncomfortable when talking with Home's other Dark Sclera residents - although he can always make himself at least seem friendly, and he gets on well enough with other dragons who made it to mainstream society as hatchlings or those who have been here a long time, he has trouble relating to new arrivals. He can't relate to their struggles as they integrate themselves into mainstream society and unlearn Dark Sclera habits, and worries that they think of him as less of a Dark Sclera dragon as a result. Negasi often goes out of his way to hide his eyes in public.

- Life at Home
Negasi is the archetypical Helheim Hall student - brilliant academically, destined for a bright future, simply incapable of believing that rules apply to him. He is a passionately curious dragon with a natural aptitude for archaeology. As Light is, second only possibly to Earth, one of the best places in Sornieth to be an archaeologist due to its abundance of ruins and wonderful dig sites, Home is known in the area for educating some of the best and most experienced up-and-coming young archaeologists. Unfortunately, due to the current catastrophic event unfolding in central Light territory as the first risen Emperor in centuries causes massive devastation and loss of life, many of these sits are currently too dangerous to visit. Even worse, as the most daring of Light's archaeological guild risk expeditions to the Emperor's Wake to search the wreckage for accidentally unearthed deep sites, it's getting very hard for Negasi to keep himself away. When he's not scheming up ways to get himself to the Wake, Negasi can often be found practicing his magic or self-defense skills. Naturally a gifted magician and very skilled at fencing and swordplay, he knows that his love of taking risks means he needs to be able to protect himself.

- Relationships
A cheerful and charming dragon, Negasi is often a pleasant, cheerful, and likeable dragon. He gets along very well with the other dragons in Helheim Hall, especially his best friend, Canaan, who shares a similar background. His friends can sometimes help curb his spontaneous tendencies, though they know that Negasi simply isn't a dragon who can sit still for very long. He is equal parts beloved by and frustrating to his professors, who love him as a student and as a dragon but do not love his simple inability to stay in his lane and do what's best for himself. His favourite professor, Home's head archaeology professor Jude, knows that the best way to keep Negasi out of trouble is to help sate his curiosity, and has already organized (very, very distant and brief) trips to some of the best sites in the Wake for him. To his credit, Negasi really does try to follow the rules - he just can't rest or sit still when he knows there's something he could be doing. Most dragons at Home know Negasi as a funny, enthusiastic dragon who loves to talk archaeology and always has a friendly word for just about everyone.

- Personality
Good-natured and pleasant to be around, Negasi rarely has an unkind word to say about anything or anyone, and often goes out of his way to be kind and complimentary to others. He enjoys spending most of his time alone or with only one or two friends, and it can often surprise those who don't know him very well to see how naturally quiet and reflective he is when he's by himself. His natural curiosity is his greatest strength and his greatest weakness; he is never bored but he has difficulty letting something rest or leaving well enough alone. He makes up his mind quickly and easily, and is known for giving really good advice (at least, his hallmates in Helheim call it 'good advice' - his professors call it 'terrible, terrible thoughts'). He enjoys spending time with hatchlings and is often one of the first to introduce himself to new arrivals. His professors try to encourage this inclination and nudge him towards a possible career in teaching - but those who know him best know that the day Negasi stops putting his neck on the line in the pursuit of archaeology will be the same day the Sunbeam Ruins go dark.
