A clever and dedicated young dragon, Clarence is Home's one and only librarian. One of the brightest dragons to ever be raised at Home, he is still the youngest dragon to have ever graduated, and he did so with flying colours. Often known as Clancy by those closest to him, he's known around Home as a gentle and mild-mannered dragon whose stalwart and brilliant character has given him an almost larger-than-life reputation.

- Biography
Born to the angelic sect of Dark Sclera dragons, Clarence was brought to Home as a hatchling. He is one of the first batch of young Dark Sclera dragons raised at Home, and he still remains close friends with the other Dark Sclera dragons around his age, especially his best friend Theo. Clancy was sorted into Jǫtunheimr Hall when he was a resident. As a student, he quickly earned a reputation for brilliance and a commendable work ethic, nearly always earning perfect marks on his exams and standing out due to his creative thinking and willingness to work hard. Though Clancy is certainly skilled enough to qualify as a master of Shadow magic, becoming a professional magician is not his calling. He loves language and books, and is more than happy to serve as Home's librarian - an essential job which he takes very seriously.

- Life at Home
As Home's librarian, Clarence is responsible for organizing and managing Home's extensive library. He occasionally takes on volunteer student workers, but the brunt of this large task falls on his shoulders. He is also responsible for ordering new books and maintaining Home's archives, which contain things like adoption papers, hatchling records, and so on. As if all this wasn't enough, he also regularly volunteers to teach classes on library science, grammar and literature, and bookbinding. Many dragons at Home think that Clancy focuses on keeping his magical skill sharp primarily so he can be sure he'll be able to protect the library if he ever needs to. Devoted to the library and to making sure the collections remain accessible for Home's residents and staff, Clancy cares deeply about ensuring that Home's library is always evolving and the collection is always expanding.

- Relationships
As both the librarian and a regular professor, Clarence is unique among many of Home's faculty members in that every resident will get to know him at some point during their life at Home. With an even-tempered and mellow personality and a generally cheerful disposition, many of Home's residents find hanging out with Clancy in the library to be a relaxing way to pass the time, and everyone knows that asking him for help finding the right book for a project will absolutely make his day. Though his classes could never accurately be described as easy, it's not uncommon for residents to take one of Clancy's classes during a stressful semester because his courses are generally regarded as low-stress and he has a reputation as a very forgiving professor. Clancy is also well-liked by his colleagues on the faculty board, and most of his colleagues deeply appreciate his frequent willingness to help out whenever needed. He remains closest with those faculty members closest to his own age, such as Theo, Strange, and Omri, but he can boast friends from every Hall. Clancy is very proud to be an alumnus of Jǫtunheimr Hall, and frequently offers his advice and tutelage to current Jǫtunheimr students.

- Personality
A knowledgeable and composed sort of dragon, Clarence is soft-spoken and well-spoken. He is the type who may not have a lot to say, but when he speaks, everyone is sure to listen. With a perfectionist streak a mile wide, he knows every inch of Home's library top to bottom, and considers its upkeep a point of personal pride and honour. A dragon who expects success of himself, his brilliance is also his greatest weakness. Unaccustomed to failure, he would rather not attempt something if he thinks he won't be able to do it perfectly, meaning he rarely tries new things without a lot of coaxing. Known for his gentle and easygoing character, Clancy is often a dragon Homes' residents feel they can easily approach for advice and help. Generous with praise and sparing with criticism, he hates giving bad grades and hates having to discipline students even more. He's the type who blames himself for student mistakes, firmly taking the stance that it is his fault if students misbehave. Fortunately, most residents at Home respect him so strongly that even thinking about misbehaving in Clancy's classes or in the library will earn you a scolding from practically every dragon at Home.
