Gifted with prodigious intelligence, a photographic memory, and extreme magical skill, it is with no exaggeration that Strange is acknowledged as the best magician at Home. Originally training to be a healer, he was involved in an accident which crushed his wings but, he thinks, probably saved his life. He can no longer fly using his wings, and even after healing he has a noticeable tremor in his wings. Prior to his accident, he found it much easier to let his arrogance and his ego get the better of him. After his accident, though, he thinks the long and complex healing process finally snapped some sense into him and turned him into a humbler and better dragon. Prodigious even when compared to Home's most gifted magicians, Strange was a very difficult young magician to work with because of his extreme skill in Arcane elemental magic. Arcane magicians are 'magical sponges,' they are extremely hard to train because the most skilled Arcane magicians can learn how to harness the elemental magic of every other Flight. As a master of Arcane magic, Strange is one of the very few dragons able to boast mastery of all eleven elements. When asked how he accomplishes this, he tends to brush it off and say it's probably just thanks to his photographic memory.

Studious and collected but still rather arrogant and dry, Strange is highly respected at Home. He was offered a position as Head of Jǫtunheimr Hall, which he declined, happy to remain Home's resident Arcane master. Despite the accident which took the use of his wings, Strange can use Wind magic to fly (and though he's not much of a show-off, he still tends to flaunt this occasionally). A dragon who knows well what he is capable of and who sees little use in false modesty, he can easily come across as terse, selfish, or overly confident. He tends to assume that the level he is at should be the standard, which means he can overestimate the skills of others and wind up accidentally insulting them. Strange is also typically the very pragmatic sort, which can make him sound rather insensitive. He's a very bright dragon and has been known to even pick up new languages quickly, but he has a rather severe case of misophonia. He absolutely cannot concentrate when distracted by little noises. Strange, despite being the most skilled magician around, makes a rather poor teacher, with few students being able to meet his high expectations. However, despite his solitary nature, he is always present at Home's faculty meetings, and has proven time and time again to care deeply about Home and take his role as a master very seriously. He prefers to work, learn, study, and train alone, though he will take on pupils when they have proven their ability. As a trained healer, he is a firm pacifist, and cannot stand doing anything to hurt another dragon. Strange can occasionally be a difficult dragon to get along with, but his closest friends at Home know him as a dedicated and dependable dragon who will do anything to protect his family.
