Timeless woods stuck in a permanent state of autumn, dragons are seen entering but never leaving. |

Redleaf Forest Warm Colors Not on Maps Always Sunny |
Location & Description
Nestled in a valley in the Dragonfly Ridge lies the Redleaf Forest, a red forest eternally in the autumn season. Despite the alluring nature of the forest- scents of flora and fauna waft out from the leaves- anyone with an ounce of sense knows not to go inside, and any local village leaders or outpost captains know better than to send anyone inside.
After all, anyone who goes inside never comes back out, or so they say. Even if you're travelling through the caves that lie underneath of it, very few have ever returned to tell the tale- often speaking of strange eyes in the shadows and dark, oily, yet brightly glowing runes on the cave walls. Even so, local dragons find themselves captivated. Old legends tell a completely different story, saying the forest was a peaceful place frozen in time where dragons who weren't ready for their next steps could take a breather. What changed? -- While most areas inside the forest are completely unknown, one place is, read about in a researcher's diary found just outside of the forest. The journal says that deeper in the forest, there's a small village made of trapped dragons, a hardy and welcoming community who have little idea of the fate that has befallen them. The houses are built of old wood, clay, brick, and stone, with fae cured tree sap holding parts of it together. The town leaders forbid anyone from chopping down or otherwise hurting the ancient red trees, so many of the houses are built hanging between trees or with the trees going through their home. As the diary goes on, it explains all sorts of strange occurrences that have happened through her time in the forest, with more anomalies happening over time. It seems as if something in the forest is trying to get rid of them, and something else is trying to keep them there. |
