Pipe
Social + Chatty + White Liar
"Don't believe everything you read on the internet just because there's a picture with a quote next to it." - Abraham Lincoln

Uh-oh, looks like this social butterfly wandered a little too far from her home lair (#45393, Spooner), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair (20kt available here if you do), or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Pipe is paired with Copper, and one of their goals is to breed as a pair in the lairs they visit. Please don't separate them!

About Me wrote:
Pipe is a social butterfly, chatty with all possible customers (and also everyone else), who is off to do some sightseeing with her husband, Copper. As the PR dragon of the pair, it's Pipe's job to advertise her husband's services, and organize pickups and deliveries of the armour he builds and repairs. Pipe speaks for both dragons, and sometimes talks too much - her exaggerations have gotten both dragons into trouble plenty of times!

This pair has been having trouble hatching kids in the Lightning flight, which is the real reason for their travels - they've been told by the clan's first seer to have hatchlings in every corner of Sornieth (ie all of the flights) before returning to Lightning for one final try. If you breed Copper and Pipe, please message Spooner with the hatchlings, and she will buy one if she doesn't already have one of your flight's element.

Please do not separate this pair.

The pair had come to Fantasy, finding themselves in the cave that bordered the Plaguelands and Shadow forests. After being shown around, she went to a small dining section for visiting dragons, and immediately began a conversation with a few armored dragons, mentioning their armor could use an upgrade. They weren't too keen on getting new sets at first and that was when Pipe started her exagerations. They weren't too extravagent, and before they got to that point the trio she was talking with agreed. She was delighted and took down their orders, a few helmets, some chestplates, and a new tail bracer.

She then moved on to her next quarry, talking with one of the Banescales that seemed to live at Fantasy. While the Banescale declined any armor, including the nice idea of metal tips for her spines, she struck up a friendship with Pipe, and the pair talked for a couple hours. Pipe relayed all her time with her old clan before mentioning the pairs' want for hatchlings. The banescale had smiled and said once a nest was free in the hatchery she and Copper could use one. While the appearance of Plague nests were somewhat frightening, she agreed, and the pair were given a room to share rather than the brief stay sections.

After waiting a little, a few of the nests were open, and the pair were allowed to take their pick. Pipe of course chose for them, and found a nice one that had more branches in it than bone. The pair nested, and were gifted with four beautiful eggs, and after a week of tender care, they hatched into adorable hatchlings, Spirals like their father, with bright red Plague eyes.

Once our darling little babies were just old enough to fend for themselves we decided to sight see a bit in the scarred wastelands, how exciting!! While sight seeing I got a little emotional when my darling husband and I met Kettle. He looks so much like us! For a second I thought..No never mind. We decided to stay with Clan Ares for a bit only to move with them! The entire clan! All the way from The Scarred Wastelands to The Shifting Expanse! It was quite the journey! We also had a few little munchkins once we settled after the big move and I couldn’t be happier! I had a daughter who looks exactly like me! They are in order Son, Daughter, Daughter. They were all born with beautiful lightning eyes!

Me and my mate Copper continued to travel until we reached the shadow flight, and met an interesting clan! The clan leaders, Nebby and Lagness, offered us a place to stay as long as we could provide something useful for the clan. I personally think our company is useful enough, but I struck a deal with them, that Copper would make them some steel lanterns for travel through the shadow flight, they accepted and we now have a place to stay until we are ready to leave.

After a short stay in a place chock-full of other travelers like ourselves, Copper and I found ourselves traveling towards the Lightweaver's domain. Our time in other flights had been enjoyable, but we figured it was time for something new - and bright! After quite some time wandering, we stumbled across a rather small lakeside town in a valley. We were welcomed by a coatl, who introduced himself as Diorite. He made note of the new visitors and sent us to the town's inn, where we could stay for however long we needed. The inn was a wonderful place! Apparently we'd arrived close to a couple other travelers - another Skydancer named Coffee, and a rather strikingly colored Imperial named Dearest. The proprietor of the inn was a very friendly Wildclaw, and she saw to getting us a place to settle down immediately. Copper opened up shop, and I started advertising his services to dragons all over Oxbow (the name of the town, so I'd found out). Soon enough, he had a crowd of dragons after his wares! Honestly, I think it overwhelmed him a bit. But he did manage to sell some armor to Ganymede, captain of the guard, and Triton, the Guardian who protected the nursery.

A short while after we took up residency in the inn, we had a clutch of two eggs! A son and a daughter, both Skydancers like myself, and identical in almost every way. They both took after their father aside from that, though. One hatchling was sent to our home lair to join our other children, and the other was so taken with Oxbow that he chose to stay. I know he'll be in good hands with the dragons of Oxbow. We left as soon as the hatchlings were grown, off to see what the rest of the world has to offer.

I managed to pull enough strings to get us to the rumoured Sky Oasis for the anniversary! The anniversary, I must admit I'm not quite sure what of, is quite an important occasion for us this year. We hatched a clutch on the day of it!

Though the journey here was very nice and all, the real joy of this was the day before the anniversary, when we finally caught the elusive pearlcatcher, gaining entrance to the Sky Oasis. Copper almost stumbled off the trail a few times but I caught him. (Nothing like falling into a pit of evil spirits to enjoy a party, eh?)

We arrived at the actual city just before the eggs hatched, and I must say they were a rather curious bunch. They showered us with fine foods and even let us drink out of elegantly carved copper cups. I would have been happy to stay a lot longer than we did, but we left as soon as our eggs hatched because Copper felt uneasy.

During our travels, we stopped in Murkbarrow Close to replenish our supplies. While there, I struck up a conversation with a dragon who went by the name of River and called herself a chemist. When I told her about Copper and his metalworking, as well as our quest, she became delighted, and insisted that the two of us come back with her to her lair to meet her partners and join in on the small Brightshine Jubilee celebration that she was planning.

While celebrating Brightshine in Shadow territory might seem a touch ironic, Copper seemed enthusiastic about the idea when I mentioned it to him, and so we agreed and set out on the road once more. Our guide and new friend led us to a grove filled with glowing mushrooms, then down a hidden entrance into a series of caves. We passed through seemingly endless underground forests of lichen and moss that glowed in the dark, until finally, we arrived in a chamber dominated by an underground lake, one that glittered in the endless night with dozens of lanterns strung up on the docks and barges that floated upon it.

Grinning at seeing the surprise on our faces, River led us down to the water, then across the slick wooden planks to one of the larger of the houses upon the water. There, we met her partners, Alkahest and Rajat, the latter of whom Copper quickly struck up a conversation about the technical details of metalworking with. I, meanwhile, inquired about borrowing one of their nests, which the trio seemed all too happy to grant.

And so we stayed with them and the rest of the clan for several days. Their Brightshine celebration was indeed small, but no less spirited for it, especially given that River was originally from Light. And finally, on the last day of the holiday, our eggs hatched! The first, our son, took more after myself, while our daughter took more after Copper, especially with their deep purple eyes.

Thus, with our eggs hatched and the festival ending, we prepared to take our leave. Copper seemed a touch disappointed to not be staying longer (for he had taken better to the darkness of the caverns than I), but I did not wish to intrude too heavily upon the hospitality of our hosts--that, and I found myself rather starting to miss the seeing the sky. I have no idea how the other Lightning dragons in this clan handle it, let alone the Wind ones!

As we were preparing to go though, our son refused to budge. He had become attached to some of the other dragons in the clan, and didn't want to leave them behind. And so, with numerous reassurances that he would be well taken care of, Copper, I, and our daughter began the trek back to Lightning territory.

Copper's and Pipe's travels brought them to the Viridian Labyrinth, home of Gladekeeper and her followers. Stopping to rest near a stream within the Woodland Path, the two was found by a small hunting party led by an aging mirror, Lossi. Noticing their weary wings, she invited them to stay in her clan until they recuperated their strength.

The clan was large, yet did not feel too crowded, with each dragon being friendly to the newcomers, as if they had always been family. With a safe place to rest, and kind dragons to watch out for them, the pair decided here would be a fine place to lay their new nest.

With close care and help from Mulberry and Nymphaea, the two resident nursery caretakers, Copper and Pipe's eggs hatched into three healthy babies.

Once the hatchlings were old enough and ready to travel, the new parents were ready to head out on their journey once again to continue their quest of visiting every flight. One of the hatchlings chose to stay with Lossi's clan, one chose to travel to see all the new sights alongside their parents, and the other chose to go off on their own journey. And though separated, the family promised to all keep in touch and share tales from their each individual adventures.

We were still traveling by the time the Flameforger's Festival had started, and not long after the two of us entered the Windswept Plateau, we came across quite the anomaly: a night that was almost magically dark. We thought we heard the sounds of some giant monster, so we prepared to flee. As our feet left the ground, a large guest of wind rushed about us, and we were catapulted into the air. That was the last the two of us remembered.

We awoke being carried up to the Cloudsong by a blood-red Skydancer and her equally intimidating Imperial mate. They assured us that everything would be fine and that they were impressed we survived some sort of burst of power from a place called The Three Pillars. Upon arrival to the clan in the Cloudsong, we were taken in quite readily by the clan, who love visitors but sadly never get to have them much.

Once we recovered from the shock of the event that got us up here, we nested and obtained two beautiful eggs. With the help of Aldraline, the overseer of the clan nests, they hatched into a girl and a boy with gorgeous wind eyes. When the hatchlings were grown enough, we left, but not before we got Aldraline to help us avoid those weird pillars.
