Born to the eccentric Alchemists of Coven OpalPhyre, the first sounds to grace this young dragon's life were cackling and a nearby explosion. Soon after two large sooty grinning faces greeted them and their siblings with an enthusiastic "Welcome moonshine, the world says hello!"

With a start to life like that, it shocked no one when Alkahest decided to follow in their parents' footsteps. They seemed to have a natural talent for alchemy, and was quite eager to prove just how good they were. Alkahest loved experimentation and seemed to revel more in the act of discovery than whether what they made actually worked.

Eventually, however, they began to feel a bit restless. While they could continue to experiment on their own, they felt like they wouldn't grow to their full potential if they didn't meet other alchemists and see more of the world. So they left their birth clan and eventually joined Clan Nightsong as one of their new alchemists.

As a result of their similar skill sets, Alkahest and the chemist in the clan, River, began to spend a lot of time together. Despite their different personalities the two hit it off quite well, drawn together by the love of their art. Eventually, their friendship began to blossom into something more, the two having found a mate in each other. Later, they were joined by the silversmith Rajat, forming a trio that they believed could conquer whatever problems life threw at them.
