Laurel

Lots of dragons want to live their lives being special, or at least special-adjacent. Even if they're not heroes or lore-chroniclers, they want some sort of niche for themselves-- craftsdragons, artisans, merchants, inventors, warriors, that sort of thing. Most dragons, at least those whose lives get written down, want to love deeply and well. They're destined for greatness... or, at least, remembrance. In the case of a few around Clan AXQU, their greatness and notoriety comes from the offspring they produce, and that is its own kind of honor.

Laurel doesn't want any of that. She doesn't want Leaper's job, chronicling great deeds done and who her lairmates are. She doesn't want romance or offspring, nor to be renowned in her field for any special skillset. Laurel just wants to take care of the small, ephemeral, fiddly lists that nobody else has the patience or time to deal with. She doesn't want to be known, and in fact, is uncomfortable being perceived at all. Or, at least, that's how she puts it. The fact that she's more well known than some of those whose legacy is their offspring list makes her intensely uncomfortable... but, Laurel can live with it. She knows better than anyone that if a dragon's purpose isn't immediately obvious, they get purged. Laurel can live with being known if it means she gets to continue being at all.
