"I do not require sleep."
"But rest does help, doesn't it? You can't perform as well when you're tired."

When scavenging, you never know what you'll run into. Having a warrior to fight off dangers is surely a good plan, but if the danger cannot be fought? It's simply too large or cannot be overcome by brute force? Then preparation is the best form of defense. That's where Amee comes in, able to clamber over all types of terrain and evade a multitude of hazards to tell you what to expect in the upcoming path and how to keep yourself safe. Its rapid reflexes and high speed make it quite a difficult machine to stop!
