Shortly after the founding of Astéri Sōlis, a roving band of Gaolers happened to pass by. They were welcomed by the clan, given a place to rest and food to eat. Though they were wary of the modern breeds prior to this, the Gaolers decided that perhaps this place could be ideal to stay. They settled together watching over the ranch, tending to sheep and cattle.

Nephre, being of the Sentinel order, often stalks the perimeter to protect the livestock from any dangers. Sōlis is bordered by steep cliffs, including on the far side of the farmland, so they often ascends the unstable terrain to keep watch. Their caprine eyes can scan the horizon for any anomalies, and hunt down beasts that threaten the herd.

They do not often associate with other dragons, instead spending time with their lairmates: Palaima, Rowan, and Hydnellum. Nephre is stoic and taciturn, rarely speaking. Many of the more passive dragons avoid them, due to their imposing stature. Nephre isn't a danger to any clanmates, of course, but won't hesitate to take on any outside threats.

As a Gaoler dedicated to their order, Nephre is difficult to get the attention of. Any who approach for conversation will promptly be ignored, their eyes scanning the perimeter instead, ears forward. If an inquiry pertains to their task, they may give a short answer, such as if they've seen or heard a particular thing. On occasion, the fledglings of the clan will use Nephre as a softer and easier mountain to climb. The fledglings will know to quit when Nephre begins to move again, as they'll begin to climb the mountains with the young ones aboard them without a care.

The only thing that seems to get them to show emotion is their animals. If one falls ill or is injured, Nephre will stress over it and blame themselves for failing to protect them. They seem content to be surrounded by the herd, knowing they trust them enough and feel safe next to them. It's not an uncommon sight for the cattle and sheep to surround a towering Gaoler in the field. Rarely, they can even be found peacefully napping surrounded by the animals- one of the few times a smile can be seen on their face.
