An herbalist specializing in magic plants, Taeyang grows many of the medicinal plants needed for Sōlis' medical center and apothecary. As well as his garden at home, he also tends to the community cropland as well as growing produce for his shop. Taeyang dedicates much of his time to being outside, tending to all sorts of plants, their properties and effects.

On occasion, he can be found in the Amphitheater watching his husband, Apollo put on performances. Taeyang isn't a performer himself, but always tags along to support and encourage not only his husband, but his other clanmates as well. While he isn't an expert and claims as much himself, many of the actors appreciate his feedback as he's very honest, yet respectful with his criticism.

He and Apollo have a small rehabilitation center for injured and sickly animals. Most of them are found by Taeyang on his foraging outings, where he patiently gains their trust before carrying them back home. He seems to have a naturally calming presence- even smaller prey animals such as rabbits and mice will approach him after a while.

Taeyang is very neighborly, chatting up anyone who he sees, as well as giving them gifts of things he's grown on occasion. While he's usually the one to initiate conversation, he'll mostly just listen, rarely interjecting. With some effort, one can get him to ramble about his day, his gardens, et cetera. Mostly, he prefers to listen to what his clanmates are up to so he can gauge what kind of plant-related gift would better suit them.

The two of them arrived to Sōlis separately, but grew closer when they bonded over their shared passion for plants and theater. Apollo claims they grew close because of Taeyang 'forcing' conversation out of him, and Apollo in turn having to work very hard to get his husband to talk about himself finally. Taeyang claims it's not that hard to get him to open up, clearly unaware of how much effort it actually is.
